Thomas and Minho made their way out of the maze, Y/n ran over and hugged them both. "What happened?" she said in a concerned voice looking at Alby and kneeling down beside Newt who was already next to the unconscious boy. "He was stung." Minho said, "There was nothing I could do." "Did you see a griever?" Chuck said looking at the tired pair, "Yeah, I saw one." Thomas said while looking at Y/n then Minho laughed, "He didn't just see it. He killed it."
All eyes fell to Thomas, "You're kidding?" Gally said sniggering. "No, what's got you feeling all confident?" Minho said looking up at him, "And what happened to your face?" Newt laughed slightly, "Y/n happened." Minho looked at the girl, "Did he deserve it?" She nodded, "Then well done." he said while picking up Alby, others helped him and they carried him to the Med-Hut.
A few hours later, everyone found out that Thomas, Fry, Minho and Zart had gone into the make to examine the dead griever. Gally wasn't happy and called another Gathering. The boys had found a weird device inside a Griever, nobody has any idea what it is. It had the number '7' on it, and had a blinking red light. Newt then told Thomas he could be a runner. Suddenly, they heard the sound of the box. Newt, Y/n and Gally bolted out of the room, the rest of the Gladers followed. They reached the box and pulled the gates open, Newt then jumped in. "Newt, what do ya see?" Frypan shouted out. Newt looked up at them all, "It's another girl.." everyone stood in shock, "I think she's dead." The girl lay there, with long jet black hair and a pale face. "What's in her hand?" Gally said abruptly. Newt pulled a small piece of paper from the girls' hand and read it aloud, "She's the last one.. EVER. What the bloody hell does that mean?"
The girl jumped awake, Newt jumped backwards. "Thomas.. Y/n.." the girl muttered, before her eyes fell to the back of her head and she fell back asleep again. All eyes turned to Thomas and Y/n, "You still think I'm overreacting?" Gally said as he jumped in the box to help the girl out. Y/n was so confused, how did this girl know her? And Thomas. She looked at the boy before following Newt to the Med-Hut. They both entered and all eyes once again, turned to them.
"You recognize her?" Newt asked calmly, they both shook their heads, "No.. not at all." Y/n said quietly. "I think we should worry about the note." she then said. "We don't need to worry about that right now, let's just wait until she wakes up and see what she knows." Newt said to her. "She's right, Newt." Jeff said, "If the box doesn't come back up, how long do you think we're gonna last?" "No one said that." Newt said. "How's Alby doing?" "Not great, he's only been muttering a few words every now and then." Y/n looked at him, "What words?" Jeff sighed, " Things like 'no, stop.." Everyone was looking at him, "And?" Thomas said. "Y/n and Thomas." Jeff said quietly.
