chapter seven: alby

Y/n and Alby continued to make their way down the hall, Alby asked, "Uh Y/n, where we going?" "Somewhere." Y/n said bleakly, Alby shot her a confused look and continued walking. They stopped outside a door, Y/n turned to face Alby, "Thank you, Thank you Alby." she said and hugged him. He was suprised but continued to hug her back, suddenly a man burst through the door and grabbed Alby on the arm and yanked him in the room, "Wait- y/n what's going on?!" he shouted, "I'm so sorry." she said with tears in her eyes, she shot on more look of Alby's terrified face before the door slammed shut. All she could hear was shouting and shuffling but suddenly it all went quiet, y/n sunk to the floor and had no idea what she was supposed to tell Newt or Gally, after all, they weren't going up for atleast a few months.

She made her way down to the camera room to see Ava, she could tell y/n was visibly upset so she walked over to her and hugged her. They stood there for about 15 seconds before letting go, "Come on y/n I'll show you to your station." She followed her across the large room over to a very confusing looking hologram which contained cameras and a computer to note things down, it was very high tech. Through the cameras she saw a huge, big clearing with trees. That was it, just trees and a weird looking set of metal doors in the ground, she presumed that must be the box they would be sent up in. She looked to her left and saw Thomas and Teresa at their stations, the two looked at eachother lovingly, there was clearly something going on between them but y/n didn't really care and turned back to her screen.

"So, your friend Alby will be going up in an hour or so, The Swipe takes about fifteen minutes then we have to get him into new clothing excetra. Listen, y/n he will be fine. Okay? If something goes wrong we can go in and help him. But we are going to try to not intervene so it doesn't effect the results." y/n sighed and nodded. "I'll have to go let Newt and Gally know won't I?" "I'm afraid so, they will get suspicious if he's gone for too long. I know they were very good friends." Y/n stood up and walked towards the door, "Here goes nothing." "Good luck, if anything goes wrong talking to them someone will be there in an instant okay?" "I'll be fine Ava."

She made her way to now Newt and Gally's dorm, she stood outside the door for about ten minutes contemplating what to say. She was just stressing herself out so she just went for it. She went through the door, she heard Newt say, "Alb- oh it's you. Where is he?" y/n didn't know what do say. She decided to just tell them straight up, "Listen, I'm sorry, but the Maze was completed yesterday and Alby was chosen to be sent up first, it wasn't my choice." Newt just stared at her with tears in his eyes, for once she actually felt sorry for him. But Gally was angry, he shoved her against the wall and screamed, "HOW COULD YOU! HE DID NOTHING TO YOU YOU VENGEFUL BI-" suddenly Gally fell to the floor. She knew that Ava had something to do with this. She looked at Newt and said, "He will be up in an hour or so." turned around and left.
