chapter one: the plan

y/n was sleeping on a winter morning and was awoken by her daily banging on the door of her room, "Get up! Chancellor Paige would like to talk to you." a man called Janson said to her. y/n had always hated Janson, he was Assistant Director for the company called WCKD who she worked for. The world had been scorched by horrible sun flares, and what came after was worse. They called it, The Flare. It took over your mind and it was, of course, incurable. Janson banged on the door again, "Come on, girl!" he shouted. "Okay, okay, I'm coming jesus!" y/n said as she tied back her y/h/l y/h/c hair into a low pony.

She glared at Janson as she walked out the door, Janson sniggered at her but continued to bring her to Chancellor Paige. They walked down the long long corridors, taking left turns, right turns and continued that way for a solid five minutes. 'God why does this building have to be so god damn big..' y/n thought to herself as she clambered up several flights of stairs, they turned the last corridor and got to Chancellor Paiges office. She pushed open the heavy metal door and went inside.

"Hello, Ms. y/s/n, please take a seat." she offered as she pulled out a small armchair. "Thank you." y/n said happily. She liked Ava Paige, she had always been nice to her since she was found that day out in the Scorch. "So, I'm sure you wonder why I have called you here at this time of the morning I presume?". "Its always an honour," y/n smiled, "but yes, what seems to be the problem?". Ava sighed, "Well, the disease is getting worse by the minute. More innocent humans are being infected by this horrid virus. And we have to take action, we have to find a cure. So I have came up with an idea,"

Y/n looked confused 'What could she possibly be thinking this time, all of her other ideas have failed as per usual' ,"well, there is a new generation that are immune to this virus, they are around your age currently as well. I think they could be the key to all of this, you too Y/n are immune but we will not test on you don't you worry darling. Y/N I am telling you this because I trust more than anyone that you will do anything possible to stop this virus correct?", she nodded, "So, I have gathered all of the immunes and some others who are not immune, we have to test them and find a way to expand their minds to see how they work. So, I am going to build a maze." Y/n was taking a drink of her water and choked on it whilst doing so, she coughed, "A maze?"
