chapter thirty six: i love you too

"Newt?" Y/n said quietly, "Yeah Love, it's me. Don't worry, you're safe." He said pulling her into a soft hug. She remembered what she heard Newt saying that day, he said he loved her. So Y/n felt it was only fair to say her opinion as well, "I love you too." she whispered into his ear. "Y-you heard? Everything?" she nodded slightly, her body still hurt all over. This caused Newt to tear up a little, knowing that she listened to him. The Med-Jacks came in and you could hear a huge crowd outside. The Med-Jacks came over to Y/n and checked her out while Newt quickly went to go tell everyone.

He stepped into the door frame and Minho stood onfront of everyone, "Is she up?! Is she okay?" Newt smiled, "Hell yeah she's up. Minho can I talk to you for a quick second, please?" Minho nodded and they walked around the corner, "She heard, everything." "All of it? Well what did you say?" Newt looked up to the sky and laughed, "That I loved her." Minho smiled, "And? Does she like you back?" Newts' smile widened and he laughed. Minho registered that as a yes and laughed with him. "Well get in there, tell her I say hi would ya'?" Newt nodded and walked towards the hut.

Y/n was lying back down again, "She looks good, except for all of the cuts and stuff but she should be back to normal within the week hopefully. I'll give you guys a minute." Jeff said, whilst pulling Clint and Alby out of the room. Newt slowly sat down, "How you feeling Sunshine?" Y/n opened her beautiful eyes and stared into Newts' dark brown eyes, "Better now that you're here Blondie." Newt held onto her now moving hand, "I could hear and feel everything anyone was doing to me, like everytime you held my hand or everytime you talked to me. I just couldn't move, I was hopelessly sley fighting against myself.." Newt sighed happily, "You don't know how happy I am you're back." he bent down and kissed her forehead. He wanted to kiss her perfect lips, but there was a rule, no touching without her permission.

Y/n chuckled with that laugh that Newt had missed so much, "Newt?" he looked her in the eyes, then she leant in and kissed him on the lips. "You don't know how long I've wanted to do that." she said with a smirk. "I could say the same thing, Love." then he leant in and kissed her again. It felt perfect, it felt right.

About an hour later, after Y/n and Newt had finished talking to eachother, Minho wanted to come say hello. "Wow Y/n, you look good for someone who's been passed out for a month." Minho said in his usual sarcastic tone. She rolled her eyes and tried to sit up to give him a hug but it was just too painful. Newt carefully sat her back down again. "Y/n?" Newt said calmly, "Only if you want, can you tell us what happened that night in the maze? If you can remember.."
