TW: Um. If you know where this arc is going, you probably already know. But. Trauma, descriptive in regards to injury, kidnapping, all that bad stuffs. We've been waiting for this chapter for a long long time (at least I have).

She needed to get away. Mikutori needed to fly away.

The Nomu was quickly approaching, and Mikutori had already done what she could to get away from it. She had effectively driven the large creature away from her classmates, as it seemed that it was her it wanted. Her eyes were glowing a bright, scared blue as four of her gray feathers were following her in her haste to get away.

Why the Nomu was chasing her specifically, Mikutori couldn't be sure, but the thoughts about the topic flickering through her mind were quickly ushered away as the desperate need to get away from the large creature overtook her.

It had happened so quickly, after they noticed the smoke. Iida ran back to the start clearing to find out what was going on, while Mikutori went further in to find any of their classmates.

She ended up with Yaoyarozu and a boy from class B, Yosetsu Awase, when the pure chaos occurred.

She could hear its footsteps behind her as she ran, trying to find a big enough space to use her feathers and get above the trees; the plants seemed so packed together where she was, she couldn't dodge the branches that were shooting out at her left and right.

Mandalay's voice had come into her head, clearer than any voice she had heard in years. 'Everyone!' It rang so hard Mikutori stumbled back on her feet, hand flying up to her head as Yaoyarozu and Awase looked up into the sky, as if they would be able to see Mandalay there. 'Two villains attacked us. It's possible there are more coming. Everyone, return to camp immediately. We're regrouping. Do not engage any enemies.'

The thundering steps were right behind her, and Mikutori knew she had to fly now, or she wouldn't ever be able to, her breath ragged in fear.

They immediately started running back towards camp before it appeared. Before the Nomu stepped out from behind the trees. It went straight for Mikutori, large hands and claws reaching for her. Mikutori yelled out the wonderful idea of splitting up, going through with the plan before anyone could object. She had to lead it away, she was the fastest. And that's what lead her here.

Leaping into the air, Mikutori quickly had her feathers wrap around her farthest extremities, one wrapped around each foot, her hands clutching onto two more. She was getting truly scared now, she didn't know what she would do if the Nomu actually got her.

You would fight. Do anything to get away. The voice sounded like her father's, a sound she had not heard in over three years now. It was soothing, in a weird way, given the circumstances.

She was too slow though, or maybe the Nomu too fast; either way, a large hand quickly wrapped around her left ankle, and immense pain shot up Mikutori's leg, her mouth involuntarily letting out a loud screech. She could all but hear the crunching of her hollow bones underneath the large fingers.

Mikutori was being pulled down, the sheer strength of this monster slamming her face-down into the dirt, her breath leaving her body in a strangled gasp, her favorite silver-framed aviators flying from their perch on top of her head and landing in the dirt nearby. Her black hearing aids also flew from her ears, not made for this kind of strenuous activity, if you can call being attacked by a giant humanoid-creature in the middle of the woods an 'activity'.

Mikutori immediately started scrambling away, the hand having momentarily left her ankle. Her feathers were fluttering around now, becoming razor sharp to start flying at the Nomu like arrows. She didn't even realize blood was steadily dripping down her face, slightly blurring her vision.
