Mikutori trudged up the steps with a bit more weight behind her feet, too tired to tread silently like she usually did. She wasn't expecting to run into her mother, but suddenly she was there, standing in front of her.

"Miku, honey, are you okay?" Sakura asked, touching her daughter's shoulder lightly, her brow creased with worry. She was dressed in smart casual clothing, tired eyes revealing how long she had been awake.

"Yeah, I cracked a few ribs in my fight, Recovery Girl took care of me," Mikutori said, staring up at her mother, a hard look in her eyes, like usual. She hated for her to worry, they did enough worrying in their lives already.

"Of course. You did wonderfully, honey. We are very proud of you, Mikutori," Mikutori's uncle, Kukotori said, his suit jacket draped over his bent arm as he came from behind Mikutori. He must have heard the last bit of her sentence as he was walking up. She forgot he would be here, being the owner of a hero agency, and all.

Mikutori just nodded, stating she needed to get back to her class. They didn't bother outwardly worrying about Mikutori, both knowing fully well the drawbacks of the avian-portion of her quirk.

Mikutori walked past her only family members, hands shoved into her pockets. She was always like this, even with her mother and uncle. Abrupt and dismissive, maybe even a bit indifferent. While, from the outside, Mikutori appeared to not like her family at all, she actually cared a lot for them, but closed herself off from everyone, as it was just safer that way.

It was while she was walking up a set of stairs did she run into probably the hero she hated the most: Endeavor. His fiery glare set upon her as she stood in his way, his large body dominating over the younger girl's.

She decided to be bold while she could.

"Todoroki is not you," she started bluntly, the older man's face becoming mildly surprised while in its glare. "You should be supporting who he wants to be, not what you want him to be. Stop being so selfish."

Endeavor grew angrier while standing there, but knew he could not physically do anything to the girl, especially not when being surrounded by pro-heroes. Also, he knew who her uncle was, and was not in the mood to deal with him.

"You should watch your mouth, girl. I don't know what my son has told you, but it is not your business on what he becomes. Frankly, you should be fearful of my wrath, not of what my son is doing."

That made Mikutori scoff louder than she ever had before. Endeavor looked taken aback. That kind of threat usually scared even the biggest of heroes and villains, alike.

"I've seen plenty of scarier things than you, number two hero. Don't think so highly of yourself."

And with that, Mikutori walks confidently around the pro-hero, hands deep in her pockets as she ignored the baffled, yet angry, expression plastered on the fire-faced man.

Mikutori waited until she was secluded multiple hallways away before pressing her hands and forehead onto the cool wall, letting out a shaky breath. While she pretended it wasn't all that scary, confronting a powerful hero like Endeavor was probably one of the scariest, and stupidest things she's ever done.

She stood like that for several minutes, trying to control her breathing. She was unfortunately spotted by the younger Todoroki himself, the boy narrowing his eyes slightly at Mikutori's shaking figure.

"Kumosora, is everything alright?" He came up to her, stopping a few feet away. The girl let out a long breath before turning her head to look at Todoroki.

"I may or may not have just called your father out on his bullshit...to his face."

Todoroki had no words, knowing how terrible his father was, and was honestly surprised Mikutori would do such a thing. "Are you insane?"

"Maybe. But you should've picked up on that by now," Mikutori was not one for jokes usually, but was trying to diffuse her anxious shaking. Todoroki just stared at her, before attempting to get Mikutori to tell him what she had said to his father. She wouldn't say, only pushing off of the wall to walk back to the class section of seating.

"Nope. I'm not telling you about our conversation. You already overheard mine with Midoriya, I'm not telling you about this one too."

Todoroki had no idea that she knew he was there, when she had talked privately with Midoriya, and, if his growing suspicions were correct, she shouldn't have known, couldn't have. He stood slightly baffled, wondering how she even knew he was there. He didn't bother asking, as he knew she wouldn't answer.

Mikutori used the extra walk to calm her nerves, sufficiently stopping any external signs of panic or anxiety.

When she returned to her class's section, they all turned around at her arrival, Ojiro calling out to her.

"Kumosora! Are you alright?" The blonde boy questioned, his face concerned. A few others had similar expressions. "You looked pretty injured when you walked off."

Mikutori scoffed before sitting in the top corner again before answering. "I'm fine. A few of my ribs were broken during my fight."

Tokoyami was seated on the other side, a row or two farther down than her, but all he did was look up at her before staring back out at the arena. That happened, usually. People immediately avoided her after seeing their fears like that, it was too dangerous and scary to be around her. Even Tokoyami, who seemed pretty dark in personality, wouldn't want to be around her after that. Probably.

Mikutori wondered if that was how the purple-haired bastard, Shinso, felt about people with his quirk. It was similar, psychological, and people usually didn't like those kinds of quirks, it messed with their brains too much.

Mikutori stared up at him curiously, before scoffing silently and turning her head away. She wasn't trying to draw attention to herself, but no one in this damn class was making that very easy for her.

No one said anything, a few students not fully trusting the lack of explanation. There had to be an actual reason for her to be injured as severely as she was, but she wasn't telling. Mikutori was just surprised they had cared enough to ask how she was, now that Aizawa had explained her quirk to the entire world, practically.

Mikutori knew exactly what it was, her hollow bones were great for flight, that was if she had wings, and they made her body so light, but it was a giant disadvantage in a fight. The hollow bones were far weaker than normal bones, so sometimes they broke like twigs depending on the attack. They didn't know that, and didn't need to know it, either.

"You don't seem that upset...that you lost?" Ojiro stated, the classmates around them nodding in agreement. Mikutori scoffed, looking them each in the eyes.

"If you never fail at anything, that just means you're not trying hard enough. You can't always win and expect to get better," she stated, her classmates silent at her wise words. She sighed before turning back in her seat to face the arena.

Like I said in the last chapter...a bit shorter than normal. They should be back to a more normal length starting next chapter.

Speaking of next chapter...things may be finally escalating...

See you then, and thanks for reading!
