A/N: Geez, its been a bit since the last chapter. Sorry about that! I've been spending the summer settling into my new job, along with trying to deal with the crippling loneliness I've been feeling while only having one friend in my new town. With that, this chapter reflects a bit of that loneliness feeling, and how I wish I could combat it.
I hope you all enjoy!
They stopped flying on patrols after that. The next time Mikutori showed up at the agency, her uncle just gave her a grim smile and said they would be walking the streets instead to hopefully try and get her back into a better light with the public. So that's what they did from there on out, walking around the city, trying to show people that Mikutori was good, a hero, and not a nightmare. Mikutori was mentally kicking herself for her idiocy in the heat of the moment, and vowed to take much more care about her words while doing hero work.
It was one of these normal foot patrols on a normal afternoon that something completely changed for Mikutori, her uncle, and the future of heroes. There was gunfire in the distance as they were walking along the street, Mikutori and her uncle exchanging quick glances before changing their direction and speeding over to the noise, each taking flight above the street to quicken their approach to the disruption.
Landing on the pavement, Mikutori immediately started looking around, seeing which direction the majority of the people were running from. The masked girl soon saw a glint from the corner of her eye, a gray feather instinctively popping off from her head and towards the shine, the feather almost immediately being struck by it, the fibers bending and wrapping around the object in an attempt to slow it down.
It worked, and the small object and feather soon fell to the ground. Bending over, Mikutori picked up the small red bullet from under her feather, her eyes glancing around at where it could have come from. Her uncle was already on the case, however, the older hero taking down a pair of meek criminals from down the alley where the bullet was shot from.
Little did Mikutori know that this bullet was going to drag her and her uncle into something much greater than they originally thought. The villains weren't anything too much for them to handle, in reality, they were very small-time criminals who somehow got access to a weird weapon that they kept yammering about. Something about erasing quirks, about becoming more powerful than everyone else around them. It was confusing, and their frantic voices made it incredibly difficult for Mikutori to follow.

Mikutori didn't think much about that incident in the following days, not with the added stress of jumping between classes and work study. It wasn't until she was heading to a specific meeting she was summoned to through her uncle, and realized that several of her classmates seemed to be heading in the same direction. Midoriya, Kirishima, Uraraka, and Asui had all apparently come into contact with someone or something related to these mysterious red bullets, and they were all about to learn why they had been asked to this secret meeting.
The meeting itself didn't involve Mikutori and her classmates much, but they learned a lot. Half of the time Mikutori was just trying her best to follow along with all of the different speakers, her eyes flitting around, reading the lips of the heroes sitting farther away from her. The meeting uncovered a whole new world of crime and knowledge that none of them really knew about, something they were too naive about in their young age. As aspiring heroes, they tried to see the best in people, and Mikutori, herself, partly forgot about the underground life of organized crime.
It gave her a lot to think about as she and her classmates went back to school after the long meeting, all stewing with the knowledge that at some point, one day, they'll all be summoned to a grand fight against this yakuza gang, and they wouldn't even know when it would happen. But they had a goal in mind, to save the young girl that was being tortured and exploited by her own father.
