It had been two days since the big battle between All Might and All For One, and the majority of class 1-A were together, waiting outside the hospital Mikutori Kumosora was admitted to. The only one not present seemed to be Bakugo, but the other eighteen members of their hero class were there, Midoriya and Todoroki in the front of the group, the former holding a card, the latter a vase of colorful flowers.
Collectively making their way into the lobby, Midoriya asked the nurse at the front desk for Mikutori's room number, the older woman hesitantly giving it after flicking her eyes over the vast amount of teenagers standing in front of her.
The class walked in silence to Mikutori's room, Todoroki reaching a hand out to knock lightly on the closed door. A man opened the door, black hair and black wings ruffling. He was in casual clothing, and had dark circles dragging under his eyes. As most of the class knew what Blackbird looked like, it was a shock to see the pro-hero in front of them, looking so disheveled and tired. Most of them had forgotten that he was Mikutori's uncle.
"Blackbird! H-hi, we...uh...we—" Midoriya was red in the face and stuttering at seeing a pro hero in the flesh.
"Oh, hello. You must be Miku's classmates. Please, she hasn't woken up yet," Kukotori sighed, looking back into the room, motioning for Sakura to come to the door. The woman did so, her usually put-together hair and clothing looking a mess. Mikutori's family was very concerned, and obviously looked that way for the past several days. The two closed the door behind them quietly, facing the group of teens that huddled closer.
The class was a bit surprised at the nickname for their classmate, as Mikutori didn't allow anyone to call her anything but her family name, Kumosora, so hearing a different way of addressing the gray-feathered girl was odd.
"We apologize for intruding. We just wanted to see Kumosora and give her a gift," Todoroki said, hands clenching around the vase of bright flowers a bit harder.
"No, no, its fine. She just hasn't woken up yet after surgery. That was you, wasn't it?" Sakura said, leaning tiredly up against her brother-in-law. After the death of Haiirotori, Mikutori's father, they leaned against each other for support, and would do the same here. Todoroki nodded, heterochromatic eyes flickering between both of Mikutori's family members. "They said a whole group of students risked their lives to save her and that boy, Bakugo. Please, come here so I can see who it was."
A bit of shuffling occurred, Kirishima, Iida, and Yaoyorozu stepping up beside Todoroki and Midoriya. Sakura clasped her hands in front of her, running her eyes over the five teenagers, the students standing silently, waiting for a reaction from the worried mother.
"Thank you," was all she said. "We know how difficult Mikutori can be with people, and we thank you for risking yourselves to save her."
"O-of course," Midoriya stuttered, abruptly holding the blue card out to them while bowing at the waist. Sakura grabbed it as Kukotori cleared his throat slightly. All eighteen students straightened and flicked their gazes upon him, as he had been silent for the last few minutes.
"I will not lecture you, as I am sure you have already had your fill, so I will let it go. But, I do have some questions about what happened at that summer camp. I also have questions only Bakugo can answer, so I will withhold those," Kukotori started, holding the attention of all the students, dark eyes staring into each of theirs. "We were informed that a creature called a 'Nomu' inflicted the injuries on Miku. Was anyone with my niece when this happened?"
Yaoyorozu raised a hesitant hand, the class flickering their gazes to her. "A student from class 1-B and I were with Kumosora while we were being chased, but the Nomu seemed to be only after her, so she decided to lead it away to protect us."
