Hi, so...its my birthday today, so have a chapter! (I need to start getting on writing more chapters, I'm almost out of pre-written ones, ope.)
Thanks for reading, please consider voting, commenting and sharing with your friends! Also, I just want all of you to know that I DO READ every comment, even if I don't respond. I love reading your thoughts on the story, and enjoy any and all feedback you give me. Thanks!
Now, onto the chapter!
It was day one of the written exams, and Mikutori looked down at the test, quickly reading each question before easily picking out the correct answer, trying to keep the graphite from smudging as her left hand dragged over it. While she was quite good at academics, knowing strategy and actually using it were very different things, and Mikutori had to focus on the practical portion of the final.
The next two days of written exams went much in the same way, Mikutori being one of the first to finish, leaning back into her chair to wait as the rest of the class completed their exams. It was quite boring, but Mikutori knew it was very important, nonetheless.
The written exams were over now, and the practical was to begin. After changing into their hero costumes, the students met at the Center Plaza for the practical exam, Mikutori was very surprised to see a large handful of pro-hero teachers standing before them. She leaned back into her heels, digging her hands into her pockets at the thought of what these teachers were here for.
And what a surprise Mikutori was in for.
"Now then...Let's begin the last test. Remember, it's possible to fail this final. If you want to go to camp, then don't make any stupid mistakes."
Jiro proceeded to ask why all of the teachers were there, and it surprised Mikutori when the answer was revealed.
"I expect many of you have gathered information and believe you have some idea of what you'll be faced with today."
Kaminari and Ashido started shouting their excitement, and suddenly their small principal, Nezu, popped out of Aizawa's restrictive bindings.
"Actually, this year's tests will be completely different, for various reasons," the small creature said, the class surprised at his attendance. Mikutori narrowed her eyes, wondering what they would actually be doing. Mikutori hoped that she wouldn't have to be paired up with anyone, she didn't like having to rely on others not to mess it up.
"The tests now have a new focus. There will be hero work, of course, but also teamwork and combat between actual people," the principal stated, crawling down Aizawa's arm. Mikutori's face slipped into an angrier pout, knowing she would probably be paired with someone she didn't know very well.
She wasn't close to really anyone, but her 'closer' classmates would probably include Todoroki, Midoriya, Iida, Uraraka, and Asui, so she knew if the pairings weren't random, then she would not end up with any of them.
Principal Nezu continued. "So what does that mean for you? You students will be working together in pairs and your opponents will be one of our esteemed U.A. teachers!" the rodent principal seemed far too overjoyed at this, and Mikutori only glared at him harder. She wasn't liking the sound of this. "Isn't that fabulous?"
The class was just as surprised as Mikutori was, but, unlike her, they all showed their surprise. Aizawa explained that the pairings were chosen at his discretion, just as Mikutori thought they would be. She would not be with anyone she more regularly talked with, at least if Aizawa was trying to challenge them, which he obviously was.
Aizawa announced the teams and their opponents, Mikutori being paired with Jiro, and they would be going against Present Mic. Mikutori's brain started whirring, thinking of all the reasons for this match up.
