Oh goodness... I didn't realize that a whole month had passed since updating this until earlier today. Sorry about that... time just got away from me.

Also, I will hopefully be returning to University by the end of August, so updates may become more spaced out as I get back into the groove of classes.

Thanks for understanding, now onto the chapter!

"Tell them. Tell them, or I will."

That threat made Mikutori's eyes widen, before she shook her head briefly and turned to look up at the boys next to her. Taking a deep breath, she revealed one of her biggest insecurities to her closest friends.

"I'm Hard of Hearing. Meaning, I have extensive hearing loss. Okay? Is that what you wanted to hear?" Mikutori glared at Todoroki as she finished, a weird expression on the boy's face. Like he was both sad and proud of Mikutori for telling their friends about her hearing.

"Kumosora..." Midoriya breathed, shock and sadness and pity written all over his and Iida's faces. Midoriya had been hypothesizing about Kumosora and whatever was going on with her since the night before, but this was definitely not what he thought it would be.

"Ugh, stop. I don't need your pity, okay? I've been like this for years already, it's whatever at this point."

"Then why not tell the class? Do you have hearing aids?" Iida asked, failing to chop his bandaged hands at her. Mikutori guessed that this was the stricter-boy's way of concern for his friends and classmates.

"Because! It's no one's business and yeah, I have stupid hearing aids. I just don't like wearing them, okay? It's fine, you don't need to waste your feelings or whatever on it."

Mikutori glared at Todoroki after that, angry that he made her tell her Midoriya and Iida about something she was determined to keep secret. She was mad, entirely angry, but would later realize that Todoroki was just trying to show her that she had friends to count on, who wouldn't look down on her after finding out about her hearing.

It was minutes later that Todoroki spoke up from his bed across the room. "Kumosora, what are you going to do about your hand? You never said."

Mikutori let out a breath, looking back down at her hand as her classmates turned to look at her, waiting for an answer.

"My mother is a doctor, and will know a good neurosurgeon for me. I was thinking about waiting until summer break, getting the surgery then so I don't have to miss any school. They said without surgery, my hand will never get above 80% normal function." This led to another round of gasps and sad looks, Mikutori just pursing her lips before falling back onto her bed, letting out the air left in her lungs.

It took her a few extra seconds to sit back up after Todoroki started talking again, looking down at his own hand as he sat on the edge of his bed. Mikutori, currently, was sat cross-legged in the very middle of her own large hospital, hand cradled in her lap like it has been for the last day, her other hand adjusting the nose cannula wrapped around her ears.

"I feel...kind of bad," Todoroki admitted, the three other teens in the room faltering and looking over at him. Mikutori snapped her eyes in his direction, head tilting slightly to the side, as if she could hear or understand him any better by doing it.

"Uh...About what?" Midoriya asked, they were all incredibly confused.

"Whenever I'm involved...someone's hand gets all messed up," the boy raised his own, healthy hand higher in the air. "Is something wrong with me?"

It was odd though, for he had a point. Midoriya had had damage to his hand after their fight in the Sports Festival, but that was Midoriya's own choice to go past his limits. Iida, well the boy had already explained his story, having lost sight of a hero's true duty in favor of revenge. The engine-boy's hand injuries were also his own doings. Mikutori, well, she decided to go help Midoriya by herself, and it was no one's fault but Stain's that she got skewered in the hand with a knife like some sort of kebab.
