Life moved too fast in your opinion. One day you're winning an award, and the next you're waking up on your 30th birthday.

Katsuki isn't in bed, but the sounds of shuffling and voices downstairs tell you they're doing something. You got up, peeking through the door. The second you do, a head of curls turns to look at you. "Mommy, you have to stay here!" Kyoichi said, holding his hand out to stop you. A smile couldn't help but spread across your face as you knelt to look at him. "Hm, I can live with that, but is there something you want to tell me?"

He looked at you as if he was suspicious, but once he concluded you weren't planning anything, he smiled. "Happy birthday, mommy." "Thank you, little man." You grabbed him into a hug, and he screamed and giggled as you squeezed him and peppered kisses all over his face. "Mommy, please! I'm a big boy!" You laughed and let him go, ruffling his honey-blonde curls.

"Yes, because three is such a big age." "It is, now back in your room!" You put your hands up in defense before sinking back into your room. Of course, the day never truly starts until the phone starts ringing. Mina's contact name flashed on the screen as you saw your reflection, and you couldn't help but laugh after you answered due to her loud singing. "Happy birthday!" "Thank you, Mina." You chuckled.

Eventually, you could hear footsteps shuffling up the stairs, so you told Mina you'd call her back. You sat up in bed, eyes on the door as you heard your family trying to get themselves together. After a couple of shushes, there was a knock on the door, and you gave a smiley "Come in!"

The door opened, Katsuki holding a cake, while they all sang Happy Birthday, which almost melted your heart. You smiled as they all got into bed with you, finishing out the song. "And many more!" Kayoko yelled, and you clapped for all of them. "Thank you guys! This is so-" you stopped to look at the cake they'd made and let out a laugh.

"Very funny." "Welcome to the club." He pressed a kiss to your cheek, making your grin even harder. "Papa did the little drawing, but I was the one who frosted the cake and made the ruffles." Kayoko bragged, squeezing in close next to you. "Wow, such skill at only six, I'm jealous." "six-and-a-half!" You chuckled at her correction, playfully nibbling her cheek. Kahano just looked a the cake, her hand hovering over it. "No Nani, it's mommy's cake!" Kyoichi said, protecting the cake.

"It's alright, Mochi, Nani can have some." "Okay... but I want some first!" He quickly turned to the cake, but was appalled at the chunk already gone, looking up at his big sister with frosting on her lips. "What? If Nani can have some, so can I." You giggled as your children started to eat the cake themselves, and you even had a couple of bites. "Is it good?" Katsuki asked, and while it was geared towards you, all the kids nodded and mumbled out praises as their faces were stuffed.

Turning 30 was a big thing for a lot of people, especially heroes. With a job like this, not everyone makes it to 30, and some don't make it there themselves. It was weird, sitting down to write a will with Katsuki in January because he wanted things taken care of just in case. It wasn't unwarranted; he'd gotten into a pretty bad incident and was in the hospital for two weeks. Even though you told him everything would be okay and that we would be fine, in reality, you both knew something like that was always a possibility.

You thought about your mother, not even making it to 25. How her life was cut short, and now even her youngest son had hit 24. All of her children had outlived her, and while it was sad, you knew she was so proud of all of you. Sometimes, a lot of the time, you wish she were still here. She could meet Katsuki, the kids, and watch her grow old. But you always knew things happened for a reason, and while you miss her, your life was balanced and at peace right now.

"y/n?" Your attention was pulled back into the moment, and you looked at Katsuki with a soft hum. You were sitting at dinner with all your friends and their kids, enjoying a nice meal to celebrate your birthday. "Chunk face asked if you wanted your gift now, you kinda spaced out for a second." You turned to see Akimitsu, holding a small square box up to you with a grin on his face. "Oh, of course I wanna open it!" Taking the box from him, you opened it to see a purple and red beaded bracelet. "Aww, Akimitsu, this is so cute!" "I'm glad you like it, titi, I made it myself." You just smiled and put the bracelet on, admiring it before pulling him into a big hug.

Most people would want to go out, possibly get drunk, and have fun with their friends for their 30th. But this is what you wanted, spending time with your friends at a nice dinner, and getting to go home and spend more time with your children. "Can we watch Ponyo?" "Kayoko, it's your mom's birthday, she should pick the movie." Kayoko pouted, but before Katsuki could scold her you picked her up and kissed her cheek.

"We can watch Ponyo, I like that movie." Kayoko gasped with a smile and hugged you tight, making you giggle while looking at your husband. "But I'm the one who spoils her too much." "I didn't have a movie in mind anyway. Plus the little ones are t-i-r-e-d so it'll help them fall asleep." You put Kayoko back down, sitting on the couch as Katsuki found the movie.

Your hypothesis was correct. By the end of the movie Kyoichi and Kahano were asleep, Kayoko barely able to keep his eyes open. "I get these two, you get Kayoko?" Katsuki asked, and you nodded as you both started picking up kids and carrying them to rooms. Kayoko was easy to tuck in, she didn't need stories or to get rocked to sleep.

"Mommy?" "Hm?" "Do you miss your mommy?" The question caught you off guard, making you pause before looking at her. "I do, I miss her a lot. But I know she's in a better place, and one day I'll see her again." Kayoko nodded, seeming content by your answer. "I'm happy you're my mommy. I love you." Even if her words were innocent, they almost brought a tear to your eye. "I love you too." Left your lips before you kissed her goodnight and left her room.

The faint voice down the hallway told you Katsuki was reading, which meant Kyoichi had woken up. While normally you joined them, you needed air. The backyard was warm, the start of summer bringing a cool breeze that felt inviting. Your feet walked you to the pool, sitting on the edge and letting your feet sway in the water. You don't know how long you sat there, but the sound of the back door sliding open made you turn around, your husband in view as he walked towards you.

"Want some company?"
