My Everything (Completed)

Chapter 4

If only it is legal to kill somebody, matagal ko ng napatay tong babaeng to. Lagi na lang ako pinapahamak. Ng dahil sa kanya hindi na ko tinantanan nila Mom.

"Wala akong balak mag girlfriend," sagot ko sa kanila.

Ilang beses ko ng sinabi sa kanila ito pero hindi sila nakikinig. Halos 20 minutes na nila akong kinukulit. Sumasakit ang ulo ko sa kanila.

"Alex, you're 27 already. Wala ka ba talagang balak mag- girlfriend?" tanong na naman sa akin ng aking ina.

"Mom, I already told you, wala pa akong balak maki pag relasyon," I calmly answered her.

"But Alex," she was about to start another rant when my father interrupted her.

"Love just let him be," sabi ni Dad. "Matanda na yung anak natin. He can decide on his own."

Thankfully, tumigil na din si Mom. I sent my father a grateful look and he nodded his head to tell me that it's fine. However, hindi ko mapigilang hindi maguilty after seeing my Mom's face. She looks so sad and I hate seeing my mother sad.

"Huwag kang mag-alala Tita for sure ikaw ang unang sasabihan ni Alessandro pag nakahanap siya ng GF niya," napatingin ako sa pinagmulan nun. Nakatingin na pala sa akin ang babaeng yun.

She is looking at me with a sheepish look. I know that look, yun ang expression niya whenever narealize niya na may nagawa siyang mali. I just nodded to tell her na all is good. Hindi naman ako mahilig magtanim ng sama ng loob. Isa pa, alam ko naman na hindi niya intention na mangyari yun. She was just being playful.

Ever since we were kids ganyan na siya. She is the goofy one, the clown of the group. She always laughs and she loves teasing the people around her. Nakakatuwa naman siya most of the time pero there are times wherein she goes overboard. Like what happened earlier, she just wanted to tease me but that joke ended up hurting my mom. Ang maganda lang sa kanya ay marunong siyang humingi ng dispensa pag narealize niya na sumobra na siya.

Kita ko naman na ikinatawa ni Mom yung sinabi niya. "Talaga baby?" masaya na muling tanong ni Mom.

"Of course Mom," I answered with a sweet smile. I felt relieved na hindi na sad si Mom.

After that, we all ate in comfortable silence. I love the food. Favorite namin ni Nicolette ang nakahain, even the dessert.

I was already on my third slice of dessert when my father decided to break the silence.

"By the way, may gusto kaming i-aannounce ni Simon," said Dad.

"Ano po yun Tito?" asked Nicolette, her face filled with curiosity.

I can't blame her though, because I'm just as curious as her.

"Well the first one doesn't really affect us at all but I still want to say it. My father decided to step down and let Marco take over," panimula ni Dad.

If you're wondering who Marco is, he is my cousin from my father's side. Anak siya ng brother ni Dad and since I am already inheriting the business of my grandparents from my mother's side, we decided na hindi na ako makikihati and just let Marco inherit the whole business.

"That's good," sabi ko naman. "At least Lolo can enjoy his retirement na." I'm really happy for Marco. He is good in handling things. I'm sure hindi siya mahihirapan sa pagpapatakbo ng company nila Lolo.

"What's the second one Tito?" tanong na naman ni Nicolette. This time si Tito Simon naman ang sumagot.

"This one concerns you my dear," sagot sa kanya ni Tito na naging sanhi ng pagkalito ni Nicolette.

"Me? Why me?" nagtatakang tanong nito.

"That is because your grandparents decided to retire," seryosong sagot ni Tito na ikinagulat namin.

Yes, we know that Nicolette will inherit both of her grandparents' businesses pero masyado pa siyang bata para dito. I mean she just graduated last year. Wala pa siyang alam sa pagpapatakbo ng negosyo.

"Dad, you know I'm not ready," seryosong sambit ni Nicolette. "I don't have enough experience."

Tinignan naman siya ni Tita at sinabing, "We know anak, that is why for the meantime kami muna ng Dad mo ang magmamanage ng mga company. We will give you two years to prepare pero after nang two years ipapasa na sayo ang mga company. Is that okay with you?"

Medyo natagalan si Nicolette sa pagsagot. Pinag-iisipan niya talaga ng maigi ang isasagot.

"What if I'm not ready by then Mom?" sagot niya. Bakas sa mukha nito ang pag-aalala.

Ngumiti lang dito ang kanyang ina bago siya hinalikan sa noo. "Don't worry. Alam namin na kaya mo. We trust you. Besides tutulungan ka pa rin namin. We will still guide you hanggang sa masanay ka na," malambing na sagot ng kanyang ina.

"We believe in you sweetheart," sabi naman ng kanyang ama.

"Thank you," yun na lang ang naisagot ng dalaga sa kanyang mga magulang.

I thought tapos na lahat ng announcements pero hindi pa pala.

"So this is the last one," sabi ni Dad. "This is about Alex naman."

Tumingin ako kay Dad. "What about me?" I asked him.

"This is about your company," he answered. "Balak ng i hand over sayo ng lolo mo ang company officially. As in magiging sayo na talaga ang company," sagot ni Dad habang nakangiti.

I was speechless. I don't know what to say. I mean, ipapasa na talaga sa akin ang company. Alam kong mangyayari naman ito pero it still feels surreal.

"Congratulations anak," I heard my dad say with a proud smile on his face.

"Congrats baby," sabi naman ni Mom bago niya ako yakapin.

Even the Gonzales family congratulated me

"Wow Alessandro nag-level up ka na ha? Congrats!" narinig kong sabi ng bestfriend ko bago niya ako niyakap ng mahigpit.

"I'm so proud of you," narinig ko ding bulong nito bago ito bumitiw sa pagkakayakap.

"Thanks," sagot ko naman sa kanya.

"Ano pang hinihintay natin? Let's celebrate!" excited na tugon ni Mom.

I feel so happy. I've been working very hard para kapag dumating ang panahong ito, alam ko sa sarili kong handa na ako. Now that it's finally here I'm just so happy.
