"Five more minutes and then I really have to get up," Shawn told Taryn as he pulled her even closer to him as they snuggled under the warm covers in his bed.

She groaned in response. "But it's sooooo early. Why on earth did you book a flight that involves waking up before dawn?"

"It always sounds reasonable when I'm making my travel arrangements, but then when the day arrives and I have to be up at four in the morning, I realize how foolish I was. The good part of an early start is that I'll be back tonight. You won't even know I was gone."

She trailed some light kisses on his chest and down his rib cage before lifting her head and looking up at him with her beautiful blue eyes. "It's my day off, so I will be very aware of your absence as I sit alone in my apartment. I think you should give me something to remember you by."

He chuckled. "Oh yeah? Like what?"

Instead of answering with words, she took his dick in her hand and began stroking him. It was wide-awake, despite the early hour. Shawn closed his eyes and enjoyed the way she gripped him with just the right firmness as her hand moved up and down. When she abruptly stopped, he lifted his head in surprise. "What's wrong?"

"You said you only have five minutes, and I don't want you to miss your flight." She threw off the covers and climbed out of bed. He admired the view of her naked body as she walked into the bathroom. "Don't you need to shower?" she asked, looking over her bare shoulder at him.

It was a rhetorical question. He definitely needed to shower, but the more pressing need was to shower with her. In a flash, he was racing to join her in the glass and tile shower stall.

"Oh my...oh my...god. Ohhhh...SHAWN!" she cried out in pleasure a mere six minutes later as he thrust in and out of her from behind while rubbing her with two fingers just the way she liked. His orgasm followed hers, and he stayed inside her so that a part of him would be with her all day while he was gone.

When he left for the airport, she went to her apartment where she crawled back in bed and fell into a deep sleep. Thankfully her alarm woke her in time for her therapy appointment. Lately she'd been meeting with Amber every week, because between Richie and her dad's death, she had been struggling.

"How do you feel about Shawn getting back into music?" Amber asked towards the end of the session.

"I'm thrilled for him," she answered truthfully. "He's been miserable ever since his career ended, and it's been really good for him to see that there's a possibility to revive it. He is in New York today meeting with his manager and a record label."

"Have the two of you talked about how this could impact your relationship?"

"A little. There's not point to put the cart before the horse until we see what happens."

Amber nodded thoughtfully. "I know you two had a good talk about your dad recently, but you've mentioned before how you don't always open up to Shawn about your feelings, and that there have been times he hasn't asked how you felt, like when you ran into Richie. I'd like to see both of you working to break down your communication barriers. When you're together, what do you talk about?"

Taryn gave this question some thought. "I usually tell him about work since there are always amusing bar stories. He shares stuff about his music. We discuss when we'll see each other and what we're going to eat. Sometimes we watch a movie and talk about that."

"Those are fairly superficial things. I'm not judging you...most of our daily conversations revolve around the mundane, but it might help if you introduced some meaningful topics. For example, when was the last time the two of you talked about your plan to open a brewpub? He's focused on his career, but are you having discussions about your future?"
