"What do you mean she has a twin?" I say walking over to them and the yearbook. I take a look and they are right. She has an identical twin. I see two pictures of the same girl, but no they're different, East and North Weston. "Crap, what am I gonna do?" I say, about to punch something or cry. Fenix sees my face and tries to give me a hug. I hold up my hand to stop them. "I don't need a hug I need to find her", I say. "Ok" Fenix says. "Let's find her then.
"But how?" I say. "It says here that they both play on the soccer team and they have practice after school today so let's go talk to them" Fenix says. "Ok" I say. It's after school and I couldn't stop thinking about this all day. Me and Fenix are watching the soccer practice from the bleachers. 'What if they don't remember me?" I ask. Fenix gives me a look that says "Are you crazy". "You're pretty unforgettable." Fenix actually says looking down at their shoes.
"Hey practice is ending, go over there before they leave!" Fenix says pushing me forward. Alright let's do this. "Wish me luck", I say to Fenix. "Good luck" they say back. Fenix thinks, is bad that I don't want her to find the girl? Fenix gives me an encouraging smile and I start walking towards the field. I hope she remembers me. I try to dodge people and find the twins. I finally see them walking and talking to the parking lot. They're wearing black shorts, short sleeve shirts and cleats. They also look tired, no wonder with all that running.
I run up to them "Hi, so this is going to sound really weird, but I was at a party last night and talking to one of you so do either of you remember me?" I say really fast. "Sorry I was really out of it last night, I don't think I talked to anyone" says North turning around to walk to her car. "Wait, are you the person that I was talking to? Your friend pulled you out before I left" East says excitedly. "Yes that was me!" I say not thinking clearly. "Hey is it a little too forward to ask you on a date this Friday?" I say bashfully looking at her cleats.
"No not at all, I'll give you my number", says East. I give her my phone and she puts her number in. We say our goodbyes and go our separate ways. She turns and walks back to her sister's car. I turn around to walk back to Fenix and look back to see if the sisters are gone and start doing a happy dance. I don't dance, that's how happy I was.
"So what happened?" Fenix asks when I walk up to them. "I have a date on Friday night", I say really excitedly with a smile. Just look happy, just look happy. Fenix smiles, gets off the bleachers and gives me a hug picking me off of the ground and spins me. "Put me down Fenix Ann Johnson" I say, not hiding my smile very well.
"Ice cream to celebrate?" Fenix says. "Yes!" I say. We walk back to the car and drive to Dairy Queen. As Fenix drives "Hey, can you help me with my spanish work?", I ask. "What so just because I'm hispanic means I can help you with your work?" they say with a smile. "No I just need help with my work that's all," I say seriously. Fenix looks at me as we pull into Dairy Queen. "Hey you told me that you'd clean out my car" Fenix says. "Right now?" I ask. "They have trash cans" Fenix says pointing to the bins that we parked next to. "Alright fine, but you're helping. It's your car" I add when Fenix is about to protest.
After we throw away all the trash that was in the car we get two ice creams. Cotton candy for me and strawberry for Fenix. Fenix tells me that they'll help me with my spanish work. "Hey I just have one question" Fenix says as we get into the car with our icecreams. "Shoot," I say, taking a bite of mine. "What are you gonna tell your parents?" Fenix asks, taking a bite of theirs . "Oh crap I didn't think about that!" I yelp nearly dropping my ice cream. "What am I gonna do?" I say panicking.
