Not a Cinderella story but close

Chapter 29/ The Ball

Me and Fenix decide on a classic black suit for them and a dark red suit for me. I'm wearing my black and white converses and Fenix is wearing tan wedges. Now they are taller than me. I'm driving of course. We pick up East and North. North is wearing a white suit with a black shirt and black heels. East is wearing a red fluffy skirted dress with flowers and black and white converses. 

"Nice shoes" I say when East gets in the back with Fenix. East looks at me with confusion. "She's wearing the same type of shoes," Fenix explains pointing at my shoes. I pull off the driveway. East and Fenix get to talking, but North in the passenger seat is quiet. She has her head in her hand and she is looking out the window. "Hey what's going on?" I ask with concern as I look between her and the road. She stays quiet for so long that I don't think she'll answer until. 

"A couple of months ago this was the night I found out that Tanner was cheating on me" she says. "Oh, I'm sorry I didn't mean to pry" I say, turning my attention back to the road. "It's fine" She says and looks out the window for the rest of the ride without another word. When we get to Gary's house Fenix and East get out of the car, but North stays. "Hey you sure you're up for this" I ask, worried. "Actually can you drive me home?" North asks. "Come on you got all dressed up let's not let him ruin another night. He doesn't get you. He had you and made the stupid decision of cheating" I say reaching for her hand. 

She grabs mine which takes me by surprise. "Hey why don't we just go to the park?" I ask. "Yeah that sounds nice" She says finally looking at me. I text Fenix and East what's going on. They tell me to go and that they will just text us when to pick them up. I drove us to the park aware that North never let go of my hand the entire ride. When we get there there's multiple carts set up and a band near the park bench we sat at last Friday. We both get out of the car. "There must be a music festival or something going on" I say as I lock the doors. "Yeah" North says, looking around quietly. 

"Hey do you want to dance?" I ask North, holding out my hand as I look at the band. "Sure," She says, taking it. We walk until we're near the band. When we get there I walk up to them and ask them to play a slow song, one of North's favorites. "What did you ask them?" She asks when I walk back to her. Then the song starts to play. "Okay who told you I liked this song?" North asks me when we start to dance. Her hands on my shoulders and mine on her hips. "A little birdie" I say looking at her. "East! I'm going to kill her" North says. "Please don't,"I say. "Why not?" North asks, raising an eyebrow. 

"Because Fenix is going to ask her out tonight" I say. "Finally!" North says. "Wait, you knew about this?" I ask. "Oh come on nobody hugs that much and East won't shut up about them" North says. "Yeah that was weird" I say laughing. After, we talk for a few hours about what we've both been up to and getting to know each other more than ever. Like the first night we met, but this is better. After a while we get hungry. We go and get hot chocolate and churros. I finally get the courage to ask her. "Hey North?" I say staring at my hot chocolate as it waves around. Then we sat down at the bench attached to the table the same place that we sat at last Friday. 

"Yes?" She says and then takes a sip of her hot chocolate looking at me. "Do you think that um we could uh go out some time?" I ask. "What do you think we're doing right now?" North says with a smile. "I mean like on a date" I say looking up at her hesitantly. "Yes" North says with no hesitation. "Yes?" I ask, my eyes widening. "Yes" She says again. "Okay, um great" I say barely being able to breathe. "Is that it?" North asks. "Well yeah" I say. "Okay well can I ask you something?" North says. "Yeah, anything," I reply. "Can I kiss you?" She asks. I lean in and very softly say "Yes". She leans in and kisses me. We kissed for a long time. 

When we break apart she says "Curfew". "What?" I ask in a daze. "Curfew, you're going to miss your curfew if we don't hurry and go and pick up East and Fenix. "Okay let's go" I say. Me and North rush past all of the carts and the band on our way to the car. I pull out the keys and unlock the doors. We get in really fast and I put the keys in and drive to Gary's house. When we get there we see East and Fenix kissing on the front porch. 

"Hey sorry to break this up, but you guys need to get in fast so I don't miss my curfew!" I yell out the car at East and Fenix. They rush to the car hand in hand. "Well looks like y'all had fun" North says with a smile. When they're in I drive and drop Fenix off, East and Fenix kiss before they get out of the car. North teases East as I drive them to their house. Then I drop the twins off. North and I kiss quickly before she gets out. 

I see East asking North what happened with us before I pull out of the driveway to my house. Thankfully I made it before curfew. I rushed upstairs fast before my parents could ask any questions. What I didn't know was how East and Fenix managed to break up a couple at the ball and not just anyone Lace and Bow.
