Fenix POV
Lace walks up to me and says there's drama around the corner. I follow her as she leads me to the drama. There's a crowd so we can't see what's going on or who it is. "Is it another fight?" I ask Lace. Lace puts her finger on her lips telling me to be quiet. We both listen and hear. "When I'm not around you it's awful. I can't stop thinking about you. Even when I shouldn't, I do. I'm sorry that my parents will never know how wonderful you truly are. You're the love I feel with everything else feels dark. Thank you for being the wonderful, amazing, beautiful self that you are because I wouldn't want one thing about you to change." and then "FENIX". Me and Lace both look at each other.
Then we hear shuffling and we see North storm off, Iris right behind her. I shove my way into the crowd and find a letter on the ground. I pick it up and read it. Lace comes up behind me. "What is it?" She asks looking over my shoulder. "It's a love letter addressed to...me" I say. We both look at each other. "Who's it from?" Lace asks looking for a name. It's from...Iris." I say not believing what I'm seeing. I check again just to make sure. Yep there it is Iris. Lace looks at me. "What are you going to do?" she asks. "I'm going to try to find Iris," I say, turning around. Lace grabs my arm. "Look I know that you're in love with her, but she and North need some space right now. If you show up then it could get worse then it is right now." Lace says looking off for a moment and then back at me.
"I'm sorry Lace" I say, putting my hand on her shoulder. "It's ok," she says. "Hey there you guys are," Bow says, walking up to us. "I have been looking for you guys everywhere" Bow says, wrapping their arms around Lace. "We were right here" Lace says giving Bow a kiss. "So what's going on?" Bow asks us. "Iris is in love with me and apparently just broke up with North. They're talking right now and I'm waiting for Iris to get back" I say tapping my foot. "Wow how long was I gone?" Bow asks. "Twenty minutes too long," Lace says. The bell rings and the halls clear. "I have to go. We have a Geometry test today" Bow says to Lace. Lace kisses Bow and then says "Ok goodluck." she says to Bow. "Hey do you want me to stay?" Lace asks me. "No I'll just wait here until Iris gets back." I say looking outside.
"Ok well see you after class" She says picking up her backpack she sat on the ground when Bow came over. She walks down the hall and turns left for her Math class. I can't even think about Chemistry right now. All I can think about is the letter that I have in my hand and what it said. I push open the school doors and walk to my car. I get inside and wait for Iris to drive in. She pulls in twenty minutes later and sees me in my car. I hold up the love letter. Something flashes in her eyes. I don't know if it's uncertainty, love or anything in between but she walks over to my car. I get out and we meet in between.
"Hi," she says looking at the ground. "Hi" I say. "Um, did you mean everything that you said in your letter?" I ask her. "Every word" Iris says looking up. "I couldn't stop thinking about that night and what you said to me. Then I really started to think. Fenix it's always been you. You were there for me whenever I needed you. Protecting me from any kind of danger. Always knowing what to say and do when I needed it." Iris says. "So that night, in the bathroom" I say. "That was me taking a chance on something I thought that I could never have with you" Iris says. I lean in. "Well you can have it" I say. "What?" she asks looking at me. "I'm here right now totally and completely head over heels in love with you and all you can say is what?" I say smiling.
"Maybe you should stick to love letters" I say smiling and laughing. She laughs too, putting her hands in her pockets. "Or I could just do this," she says grabbing my tie and pulling me in for a very long and deep kiss. "Yeah that works" I say when I pull back and then we kiss again. I run my hands in her short blonde hair and finally feel happy after so long of feeling lousy for not loving who I'm supposed to be. East and me would have never worked anyway. When we break apart we see a crowd standing around us. Then they start to cheer. I grab Iris's hand. "It must be lunch time" I say smiling. She laughs. "Yeah I guess so" she says. We walk hand in hand into the cafeteria. Finally happy with the way that things ended up.
