Not a Cinderella story but close

Chapter 17/ The butterfly effect

Tomorrow at school. 

Since Iris is suspended I have to drive myself to school, alone. I get out of my car, grab my keys and lock my car, and then walk into school. I'm walking past the trophy case and the next thing I know I'm shoved into a janitor's closet from behind. The lights are off so I have no clue who shoved me in here. Someone turns the lights on. There are three people Rex, Jason, and Jack. They're all on the football team with Tanner. I can tell that this is going to be bad. 

Rex is medium height, he is tan with brown eyes and blond hair. Jason is the shortest he has brown shaggy hair and hazel eyes. Jack is the tallest and has this caramel skin, blue eyes and black fluffy hair. They're all muscular and they all look mad and tense. 

"We know that Tanner got suspended because of your buddy" Jason says with a sneer, taking a step forward, arms crossed. I turn to get out of there, but Rex blocks my path. "Where do you think you're going?" Rex asks, crossing his arms. I don't know whether to say something or stay quiet. After a minute I choose to talk. "Look guys I don't want any trouble." I say moving out from in between them arms up. "As long as you don't say anything about what Tanner said then yeah we're good" Jack says. "Ok simple I won't" I say thinking they'll let me go so I take a step forward. I was wrong.

 "We're gonna let you off with a warning" Rex says getting in my face. Jack looks uncomfortable. Jason takes a step forward. I back up. Jason takes another step forward and throws a punch. I duck just in time and try to shove Jack and Rex out of the way to the door. But Rex grabs me and Jack punches my face. It all happens so fast I'm not even sure what happened. When I open my eyes all three boys are gone and the bell is ringing for, first period. 

I get up off of the ground and notice in the mirror that my left eye is black. So it wasn't my imagination. My eye hurts to open. When I turn around I notice a piece of paper on the floor. It's a scrape, not a full piece of paper with garbled letters like someone was in a rush. On it, it says "Keep your mouth shut or next time it will be worse than a black eye". 

I open the door to the janitor's closet and cover my black eye. I walk down the hall looking both ways to make sure that no one sees me and walk out of the school to my car because there's no way to explain why I have a black eye without having to explain. That will only make things worse. One thing is for sure, I can't snitch on Tanner.
