Chapter 34/ The truth heals

"We found out who it was," Fenix says into the phone. "Great, who was it?" North asks as I put the phone on speaker and put it in between the driver seat and the passenger. "It's Jimmy," East says. "Jimmy as in the guy that works at Sweet Frog?" I ask. "Yes," East and Fenix say at the same time looking at each other. "Are you guys sure?" I ask, not wanting it to be true. "Yes, if there was anything else than we would tell you" Fenix says. "Do you guys know why?" North says, still looking at the road. 

"No, we were hoping that maybe you guys found that out" East says. "No, things were a little more....difficult than expected" I say looking at North and I see her shift a little in her seat. "Well we need to figure something out in order to get them back together" East says. "How was Lace? Was she upset?" Fenix asks. "Yeah she was a mess. She confirmed everything" North says. "So it must be true," I say. "Yeah" East says. "Ok we will head to see Jimmy and you guys should visit Bow to see how they're doing with the break up" North says. "Ok sounds like a plan" Fenix says. "Alright bye" I say. "Bye" East and Fenix answer. 

I hang up the phone. I look at North for a while wondering why she kind of shut down at Lace's house. "What?" North says taking her eyes off the road for a second to look at me. "Why did you freeze in there?" I ask not knowing the full reason why she pulled me out of there. "I didn't freeze," North says defensively, hands tightening on the steering wheel. "North you were the Ice queen" I say. "Fine I may have frozen a little," North says. "I know that Tanner cheated on you, but we need to proude at the hurt a little so that we can make it better" I say. "Are you talking about Lace or me?" North asks. "Which do you want me to mean?" I ask. 

North gives me a quick glance and then turns back to the road. "Honestly, I don't know right now. I just want us to fix this mess and put them back together. No more hurt" North says eyes getting a little bright. "And we will, we can start with Jimmy and Bow and make our way back to Lace ok?" I say putting my hand on hers. She takes it and gives it a squeeze still looking at the road. We arrive at Sweet Frog and it looks like Jimmy is locking up. We get out of the car, North locks the car and we walk to the front door. I open it for North and we walk in. "Hey guys" Jimmy says smiling and looking up while wiping the counter down. "Hey Jimmy," I say, putting my hands in my jeans' pockets. 

I shift my weight and look at North for reassurance. She looks back at me and nods. Jimmy looks between the both of us and his expression changes. "What's going on guys?" Jimmy says while stopping wiping the counter and turns all of their attention to us. "Um we need to talk" I say looking at him. "Yeah, ok let's sit" Jimmy says walking out from behind the counter and motioning to a table, leaving the rag on the counter. We each take a seat, me and North sitting beside each other. "Why did you dare Lace to kiss Liam? More importantly why was the cost if she didn't, that she would have to break up with Bow?" North says crossing her arms and putting them on the table. "Oh wow right to it" I say to myself. "Um excuse me?" Jimmy says with a look of confusion on his face. 

"Lace told us that you dared her to kiss Liam and that if she didn't then she had to break up with Bow" I say. "Why would I do that?" Jimmy says and I notice their shoulders stiffen. "That's what we are here to figure out Jimmy" North says leaning back in her chair, arms still crossed. "I have an idea why," I say leaning forward "You have a crush on her. You thought hey if Bow catches them then Bow will break up with her and I can finally date her" I say to Jimmy and I see in my peripheral vision that North looks impressed. "I would never do that" Jimmy says standing up and waving his arms around. 

Me and North look at each other. North pulls out her phone and in ten seconds she shows Lace's account and on every post is a like and a nice comment from Jimmy. Also a tweet on Jimmy's twitter account the day of the dare "May be in a relationship soon". Me and North both look it over and then we show Jimmy. They lean down and look at the phone with a shocking expression on his face. 

"The internet we see doesn't lie Jimmy" I say pointing to the phone that North is holding. I pull out my phone and pretend like I'm texting. "Ok fine, maybe I have a crush on Lace " he says leaning down towards the table "I dared her, but you can't tell anyone" Jimmy says looking nervous. "Oh we won't" I say getting up from the table. North does the same and we walk out of Sweet Frog. "You got that right?" North asks motioning to my phone. "Every word" I say.
