So here we are today. Me holding hands with my girlfriend who I've been dating for a month now. I haven't spoken to Fenix since she told me about her crush. I tried to text her but no reply anyway back to the main point. I stand still holding East's hand near my car in the front of the school. "Are you ready?" I hear East ask. I slowly nod my head up and down looking at the front of the school not daring to look at East or she'd know how truly scared I am.

"Alright then let's go" she says. "Are you sure you want to do this? I said really nervously. "Of course as long as I have you I can do anything" East says giving my hand a squeeze. I look into her eyes and know that she's telling the truth. "Okay let's do this" I say with more confidence than I feel. We start walking towards the school still holding hands. People start giving us looks when we reach the sidewalk. Some people give us dirty looks.

"Just ignore them" East says as if she can read my mind. We keep walking hand in hand to first period english with Mr. McCulley. We let go when we have to go to our separate seats. When I go to my locker to grab a few books for next period I find Fenix staring at my locker and a bunch of notes taped to my locker. I ignore Fenix and read the notes "Fag" "Dyke" "Try being straight it's healthy" I don't even read the rest because I know that if I do I'll do something that I'll regret. I return my attention to Fenix.

"Hey" I say worried what they'll respond with. "Hey," they say, turning their head from the notes on my locker to their shoes. "Why are you standing near my locker?" I ask, shifting my weight. "I heard what you did today with East and I knew that something like this (She points to my locker) would happen" they say a little disappointed. 'Well thanks for checking on me, hey can I ask you a question?" I say a little softly. "Sure," Fenix says.

"Why haven't you returned my texts?" I said. I know what you're thinking. I said that I would let them come to me but come on they're my bestfriend I was worried it's been A MONTH! "Sorry I just didn't know how to reply," they said. "How about Hey as a start?" I say. They laugh. "Yeah I guess that works," Fenix said. "Are we ok now?" I say preparing myself for bad news. "Yeah we're good now, I just needed some time," Fenix says.

I smile and give them a big bear hug. They hug me back and we both smile. East sees me, gives me a look and comes over. "Hello I don't think we've met, I'm East Iris's girlfriend" East says a little defensively as she holds out her hand. Me and Fenix stop hugging. "Hi I'm Fenix Iris's best friend," Fenix says shaking East's hand. "I'm so glad you guys are meeting" I say and rap an arm around both of their necks for a group hug. It's a little awkward, but we make it work.

 Two months later..

Me and Fenix decided to act like the split and crush talk never happened. We're both very happy as far as I can tell. Me and East are still dating and it's going great. Tonight's a very big night. Me and East have our three month anniversary date. Fenix is helping me get ready at my house. "I think that the black skirt would look the best," Fenix says holding up the black mini skirt we bought two days ago. "Okay, but which do you think is better, the striped shirt or the polka dotted one?" I say holding up each shirt.

"I would say the striped shirt, it matches the skirt." Fenix says. "Jacket or no jacket? I say. "I would say no jacket," Fenix says. "I can't wait for tonight" I say with a smile while I put the shirt and skirt against my body in the mirror. "You're going to look beautiful," Fenix says with a smile. "You sure you're ok with this?" I ask a little hesitantly. "Yeah of course, I actually have a date tonight?" Fenix says with a smile. "You do tell me everything, boy or girl? Who is it?!" I spit out way too excitedly. "Calm down, I hope it's okay, but I asked North out" Fenix says looking at their shoes.
