Not a Cinderella story but close

Chapter 26/ Matches burn

"Jerry did you tell these people when they showed you evidence that they were being harassed that they forced it?" Mrs. Pot says pointing at us. "I uh what?" they sputtered. "Jerry did you really suspend them for showing you a video that shows those boys are homophobic?" Mr. Frank asks. "Why did you suspend them?" Ms. White asks. "Let's listen to the tape again to answer your questions," North says, grabbing her phone from the table, pressing a few buttons and playing it for all of us to hear. 

Me, East and Fenix smile at her. The recording starts to play. "You're all suspended for five days''. The principal said. "But why?" I ask on the tape. "This proves that they're homophobic and that Tanner said the f slur" North says on the recording. "I won't have the football team lose because you girls forced them to say some bad things'' the principal says. The principal looks at us and then the board. "That, that wasn't me!" he says, looking like a scared mouse. "Then why did the voice recognition app say it was a match?" Mr. Poet says, looking at the principal. "I uh I" they sputtered. 

The board turns their backs on all of us and huddles up. After a few minutes they've made a decision. "Mr Gum, you will no longer be their principal, you're fired" Mr. Poet says. North, Fenix, East and I look at each other eyes wide and smiles wider. "Wait what you can't fire me!" The principal says. "Actually we can we're your bosses Mr Gum" Ms. Evern says. "But who will be the new principal?" Mr Gum yelps. "I will'' Ms. Evern says. "I trust that you all are ok with this decision?" She asks all of us. We all nod yes very excitedly. 

"Well then take your things Mr. Gum you won't be needing them anymore" Mrs. Pot says with no sympathy. The old principal stoms off and we all look at each other. "You may step down you four" Mr. Frank says. The four of us get off of the stage and run of our group. We all jump up and down in front of the stage with joy. I see Fenix hug East with a huge smile on their face. "Go home now this meeting is adjourned" Mr. Crow says. "See you on Monday" Ms. Evern says. 

We all say our goodbyes to the board members and walk out of the theater. We all talk for ten more minutes outside of school until the sun starts to set. Then we say our goodbyes and go to our cars. Fenix, North, East and Me and pile into my car and make the trip back to our houses. We talk the whole we there and theorize about what Ms. Evern will be like as the new principal. Somewhere in the mix we decide to go to the park. We each call our parents and tell them where we're going. When we get to the park I park the car and Fenix notices it first. They point it out to the rest of us. We all turn towards where they're pointing and look to see a hot chocolate cart with honey roasted nuts.
