You knew Ririka better than you knew yourself. You could tell what kind of mood she was in with just a simple look at her. Ririka wasn't sure how you were so tuned to her feelings but she was grateful for you because of the way you helped her. When she was having bad days, you were always there to help her out in any way.
"Ririka, talk to me. What happened? Why are you so upset?"
"(y/n), for once. Just please drop it. I don't want to talk about it."
You felt like whatever had happened dealt with Kirari. Ririka wasn't heading the usual path she took to meet with their driver.
"At least stop walking so you can catch your breath. You're walking too fast Ririka, I can barely keep up."
Ririka doesn't listen to you, simply continues to who knows where. It wasn't even in the direction of their mansion.
"Stop following me. I just want to be left alone. Why can't you listen for once?"
"Because I'm your best friend and I'm worried. You've never been like this. I just can't leave you alone."
Ririka didn't want to be followed. She just wanted to be alone so she continued walking faster in hopes that you would lose track of her. In her hurry, she hadn't taken notice that a bus was approaching quite quickly just as she was crossing the street. Without a second thought, you ran as fast as you could and pushed her out of the way.
"(y/n)!" The bus screeched to a halt and people rushed out to help you. Ririka ran over to you, pushing everyone out of the way to get to you. "(y/n)! Look at me. Everything is going to be okay. You're going to be okay. Just focus on me."
Ririka was lying to you. You weren't okay. The bus had been going too way too fast. It was a miracle that you were even conscious.
"Is okay, Ri...smile for me. I lov..love you."

You were dead. Your heart stopped beating before you could even arrive to the hospital. Ririka hadn't learned about it until she arrived at the hospital with Kirari in tow. The paramedics hadn't given Ririka a chance to ride in the ambulance with you so she called Kirari. She didn't even care that she was fighting with her, all that mattered to her was getting to you quickly.
"S...she's dead, Kirari. This is all my fault!"
"No! None of this is your fault, Ririka. This was an accident...."
"That should've never happened. Had I just listened to her....had I just looked before crossing. She wouldn't be dead!"
Ririka buried her face in her hands as she cried. Kirari did her best to console her but it was useless. Ririka was inconsolable.
