Never in her life had Sachiko heard someone tell her no. She was used to always getting her way so it had come her as a surprise when you turned her down. She had prepared everything for the date and yet hadn't prepared in the event that you would turn her down.
"No? What do you mean no?"
"I have a girlfriend, Sachiko. I can't go out with you."
"Well who is it? How come...." She trails off when she realizes she was about to reveal the fact that she had been observing you for the past couple of days. "With how well liked you are by everyone, I should've at least heard something about your not being available anymore."
"We're just both private people. We didn't want anyone to know."
"I see. If the two of you ever break up then my offer still stands."

You had forgotten all about Sachiko's offer as you were too busy trying to figure out what was going on with Mary. She was colder than usual and every time you tried to talk to her about it, she would yell at you to not get in her business.
"Is it something that I did?"
"You know what? It is something that you did."
She finally tells you after you had been bugging her for so long. You feel your heart stop for a second as you panicked to figure out what you could've done to piss her off.
"But what did..." The memory of Sachiko asking you out suddenly comes to mind and you start to apologize, thinking that was the reason why Mary was pissed off. "I'm so sorry, Mary. I turned her down. She hasn't bothered me since then. I swear that I didn't do anything to make her think that I was interested."
Mary didn't care that Sachiko had asked you out but she was glad that she had done it. It gave her an excuse to be mad at you.
"I don't believe you. You must've done something to make her think that you were interested. It's been days since she asked you out and you never bothered to tell me a word about it?"
You truly believed that she was upset about it and it made her feel a little bit relieved. You would be spending the next couple of days making it up to her.
"I'm sorry. It just slipped my mind. I've been so busy with all..."
"I don't care, (y/n). I have a match to get to so leave me alone."
You had already screwed up and you didn't want to make it worse for yourself so you let her go.

Over the next couple of days, you did everything you could to make it up to Mary but nothing seemed to work. She kept giving you the cold shoulder and you were beginning to feel hopeless. You were all out of ideas and that you could do was ask her about how you could make it up to her.
"Mary, I...."
You have no words to describe the scene that you walk into. Mary had been on top of Ririka, kissing her with one of her hands under her shirt.
"(y/n)! I can explain!"
She stands up and makes her way over to you. Just as she gets close to you, you slap her.
"I don't need one."
Mary's still recovering from the shock of the slap to follow after you.

You were in a rush to leave the school so you wouldn't break down in front of everyone when you suddenly bumped in Sachiko.
"Normally, you're the one making people cry. What's going on? What happened?"
"I'm sorry. I wasn't watching..."
"I don't care that you bumped into me. I care about why you're crying. What's going on?"
"Mary cheated on me."
Sachiko wraps her arms around you and pulls you in for a hug. She should've known that Mary would've fucked things up with you.
"Let me take you home."
"Will you stay with me? I know Mary will probably visit and I don't want to deal with her right now."
"I'll keep her away.'
Sachiko shouldn't be happy over your heartbreak but she just couldn't help herself as it meant that she now had a chance to be with you.
