Chpt 10

He Stole My First Kiss

It's been a week since everything had happened. I was still using crutches but freely roam as much as I liked. There wasn't much Titan activity going on thankfully and I was told what was happening with Eren.

I couldn't help but think about the dream I had of my mother a few nights back. It felt so real like it happened before but I just can't remember if it was or not. Were they really just stories mother? Or were you speaking of real events that took place?

At this very moment, I was seated on my bed in the cabin and Annie sat across from me on her bed. "What's on your mind?" She asked and I looked up at her nervously.

"I.." it would be pointless to not tell her what's on my mind, we've been friends for 5 years, longer than anyone else here in the scouts besides Armin, Eren and Mikasa. I bit down on my lower lip before finally speaking up.

"This may sound stupid but.. my mother use to tell me stories about titan shifters. She said it's all a myth.. just a story. I don't know but after seeing Eren like that last week, everything my mother ever told me could be tru-"

I stopped when Annie had this terrifying look on her face. I gulped and give a nervous laugh. "I- it could be I'm over thinking things.."

She grabbed my hands, holding them up to her face. She placed her hand next to mines and that's when I noticed that the rings we wore were the same.

"Stop over thinking things. Anyways, Reiner's outside." She said, walking out of the room.

I stood up, grabbing my crutches. "No need to get up to see me." Reiner said, walking into the cabin.

"Hey, you aren't allowed in here!" I said nervously. "Don't worry, Bertholdt and Annie are looking out for me." He sat down next to me on my bed and my body tensed suddenly. "Since when were you and Annie friends?" I asked, laughing slightly.

"She still hates me, but for your sake, she's ok with me." He said.

"So what's up? Need anything?" I asked nervously as I fidget where I sat. He was close, very close and I was unsure of what to do. My body was slowly becoming hotter by the second.

"We haven't seen each other for a bit after the whole ankle situation and your brother interrupting us. I wanted to see you again.."

I placed the crutches down flat onto the floor and turned to fully face him. "Well we can-"

He pressed his lips against mines quickly but gently. It was the first time someone has every did this to me obviously. As I sat there shocked at his action, I leaned forward into the kiss, closing my eyes as he slide his tongue into my mouth.

I pulled away at the wet feeling and looked at him slightly embarrassed. "W-what was that?" I asked. He blushed, looking away. "Sorry I just.. thought you might like that.." he said.

"Is.. is that how kissing works?" I asked and he nodded slowly. "I won't do it again-"

"No no, I liked it! I.. I'll try it too.." I grabbed him by the collar, pulling him towards me, kissing him and he did the same. I felt myself falling back onto my bed as we kissed and he was now over me.

"Come on Reiner, must you do this? I told you not to get carried away." He pulled away from the kiss, letting out a small sigh as he moved away. Annie stood there with her arms crossed.

"You could've knocked." He said. I sat there embarrassed that she saw us like that.

"This is my room too, yuh know." She said.

I cleared my throat before grabbing my crutches and standing up. "I'll be off my crutches by tomorrow, so I'll be able to get back into action and finally become a real scout. What about you guys?" I asked and they were both silent for a bit.

"I'll be joining the scouts definitely. I'm not sure what the others are going to choose." Reiner said as he stood up from my bed.

"Why are you joining the scouts?" I was shocked to hear that he was going to do that. If anything he should become one of the MPs.

"Because I see the way you fight. You get carried away sometimes and you'll need someone to be there for you when you fall. So I'm going to be that guy and there's no way I'm going to let my girlfriend join the scouts on her own." He said and my eyes widened to see that he called me his girlfriend without asking to be my boyfriend.

"Girl..friend?" 

"Yeah I said it. I'm claiming you before anyone else can." He looked at Annie who had a pissed expression on her face. "You cannot claim her, she's already mines." Annie said.

"Oh yeah? Wanna fight it out?" Reiner asked.

"Guys come on, don't fight over me!" I waved my hands side to side as I try to stop them from getting into a fist fight over me. "I'm sorry Reiner but Annie will always be my number one." I winked at him and he shrugged.

"You're best friends I get that but now we're boyfriend and girlfriend which means you belong to me and I belong to you. Don't you forget that. Especially you, Annie." He teased.

"Reiner.." he chuckled and looked at me. "I'll see you tomorrow." He said, walking out of the cabin.

I looked at Annie who sighed and plopped onto her bed. "He's a pain in my ass already.." she said and I couldn't help but laugh about it. "Speaking of relationships.. you and Armin..?" I said and she turned onto her side, looking at me.

She was silent and didn't bother to say another word but I knew what she was trying to say.

Her silence was loud enough.
