Age 18:
At the age of eighteen, Magnus and Jin-Woo graduated from high school. When they were filling out their 'Plans for the Future' paperwork, Magnus put that he would take over the family business while Jin-Woo put that he would be going to University in Seoul.
Looking over, Jin-Woo couldn't help but ask his friend, "Hey Mag, you're not going to Uni?" With a shy smile, and his hand scratching the back of his neck, Magnus replies, "Hahaha, I don't think I'm cut out for this whole school thing. I think I'm just going to finally take over the business and help your mom with it." 'Damn, I'm still not used to the nickname.' Jin-Woo started to call Magnus as Mag two years ago. Why? Well, because he wanted an even closer bond before he could genuinely accept Magnus's feelings for himself.
"Ah, I guess that makes sense." Jin-Woo nodded. 'I would have done the same, but mom wants at least one of us to go to uni, and Mag already got the free from school card.' He thinks with a slight chuckle.
A few months have passed since graduation. Besides running the cafe, Magnus would also participate in some dungeon raids. He and Kyung-Hye got into a heated argument when he decided to announce that he would also join the raids. "Why would you risk your life like a fool?" She spits out. "I want to help you and your family. It's the least I can do since you raised me since I was eight years old. Dad always told me to repay a single drop of help with an ocean's worth of relief. That's what I want to do with you guys. Please just let me."
"Are you sure that's the only reason?" She asked with her brow raised. Magnus looked around the cafe to see if anyone was around, but he remembered they closed for the day already. With a shake of his head, he answers. "That's not the only reason." 'I knew it.' "What's the other reason? Come on and spit it out, child." Huffing, he crosses his arms in front of his chest, turns his head away from her, and starts, "I am not a child, and I want to help send Jin-Woo to and through Uni. He doesn't even need to know. I can keep the subsidies that the association gives us hunters, and you can keep the earnings from my extra loot."
Stunned by his words, Kyung-Hye was speechless. After a while of awkward silence, she asked, "Why would you do that?"
"...him."
"What?"
"...love him."
"Speak up. I can't understand you."
"Ugh. I said I love him!" Magnus shouts but then stops and watches in horror as he sees Kyung-He walk up to him, raising her hand, and ... it lands on his shoulder.
*sigh* "I knew it. Fine then, but I will not be taking the money, and neither will Jin-Woo. I recommend you keep it just in case of emergencies. And no dungeons above the D-Rank. You are still new to this whole 'Hunter' business. Also, I hope you confess soon enough. That boy needs some more action in his life."
Her final sentence made Magnus blush a bright red. Laughing so loud and merry, Kyung-Hye pats his shoulder and says, "If my son ever denies you, just tell me, and I'll beat some sense into him. I would love to have you as a son-in-law and finally become family. Now let's go back and cook dinner for our two gluttons," She continued with a smile and a spring in her step. At this point, Magnus.exe stopped working and was buffering.
After receiving her consent for her son's hand in marriage, even though said son doesn't know he has already been married off, he runs to a tattoo parlor and gets the expression 'Property of Sung Jin-Woo↓' on his tailbone, the arrow directly pointing on his asshole. He went into work with a slight limp, and when Kyung-Hye asked why he was limping, he tried running away, but she soon caught him. 'Damn, this lady looks weak and fragile but is actually a beast in human skin.'
