On a bright sunny day, a gate appeared on a construction site. The Hunters Association had deemed it to be a D-rank dungeon. Two males were on their way, one taller than the other by two inches. The taller one had eye-catching features, while the other looked plain and boring. Magnus, the taller one, had light blue hair, a lean body, sunkissed tan, and arctic blue eyes. The shorter one, Jin-Woo, had black hair, a frail body, wheat-colored tan, and grey eyes. As they passed by many people, they could hear the taller one reprimanding, the shorter one.
"What were you doing to look like someone ganged up on you?" Magnus asked.
"Haha, would you believe me if I told you I went into an E-rank dungeon?" Jin-Woo fired back with a slight chuckle while scratching the back of his neck.
*sigh* "Why am I not surprised. Anyways, you'll definitely be okay today. After all, I am here today. Nothing bad will happen to you." Magnus responded, not knowing that what he said would be false. "Plus, it's my fault for not joining you. Sorry."
"It's fine. We can't keep relying on you," Jin-Woo says, trying to liven the mood. But when he turned and faced Magnus, he came face-to-face with him.
"S-so, are you trying to get rid of me?" Magnus asked, tears welling up in his eyes, visibly shaking. "Am I useless now that you don't need me?"
Panicking, Jin-Woo went up to him and said, "No, it's not like that. Don't be sad. I'm sorry for not explaining. I will never get rid of you." He tried to sound reassuring with a smile.
"Okay, great. Let's keep going; we're almost there." Magnus replied with a smile and a bounce in his step as if he wasn't shaking and on the brink of crying a second ago.
*sigh* 'I always fall for that trick. But it's good. He has gotten more expressive over the years. Now he can smile even if other people are around.' "HA?! What are you looking at, punk?!" 'His temper still needs work, though.' Jin-Woo thought as he walked over with a smile. Little did Jin-Woo know that Magnus only acts like this whenever he or Jin-Ah are around. Usually, Magnus doesn't speak or act human when he's alone.
"I'll go get the coffee. You can go and take a seat. It'll take a while for the raid to start." Magnus tells Jin-Woo as they arrive at the construction site. "Okay, also, if they don't have any, it's fine," Jin-Woo tells him as he waves and goes take a seat at some wood pallet.
As Magnus made his way over, many hunters greeted him. "Yo, Jin made it."
"Jin, good to see you man, is Sung here?"
"Yes, he is. Why?"
"Chill, man, just wanted to know. It's good to have both of you here."
As he passed two males, one with an ugly neon-green sweater, the other with a blue jacket, he was also greeted. "Yo Jin! Good to have you and Sung here." The one in blue greeted. "Sure," Magnus replied as he was about to walk away, but he slowed down as he heard the question of the neon green sweater. "The guy that just passed... Is he powerful or something? What about the one surnamed Sung? Everyone is happy to see them."
"Hehehe... you wouldn't know them since you left before they even started. The one that just passed is a C-rank ice user known as 'Dragon Reaper of Ice." The blue jacket said.
'Ewww, that's such a cringe-worthy nickname. Wonder who started it.' Magnus thought as he still walked away slowly to hear them. Not that their voices were low or anything.
"That's a badass name. What about the other one?" Neon green sweater asked.
"Ha, the other one, Sung Jin-Woo, is an E-rank hunter."
"If he is an E-rank hunter, why did you ask for him? I thought he would be a powerful one."
"Well, you see, if one notices Jin, then we can only assume that Sung is here too because Jin only comes if Sung is here. Sometimes, Sung comes by himself, not following Jin, since Jin needs to run his cafe. We ask if Sung is here because if he is, we know it's a safe dungeon." Bluejacket explained as he took a sip of his coffee.
