Upon hearing this statement, Jin-Woo was not surprised but glad for the amount of care and support his boyfriend gives him. Nodding his head, he also got into a lunging position, getting ready to go after Magnus managed to gather the spiders' attention.
Receiving the confirmation, Magnus exhales, causing the air around him to grow even colder and sharper without him or Jin-Woo noticing. The arctic blue light his eyes give off starts to get brighter as the fog around him starts to turn more transparent, slowly forming into a mist. The mist might look lighter, but it's sharper than the fog ever was. "Let's tango, you fucking insect!" Magnus says, as he dashes towards the spider.
*SWWIIISSSSHHHHH*
Leaving behind a trail of light and mist, Magnus makes his way towards the spider at breakneck speed. Readying his scythe, he starts to make way towards the spiders legs. "I won't go easy on you this round, so you better not ignore me!" Magnus shouts at the arachnid boss, successfully getting its attention.
*SCCCRREEECCCHHH*
Recognizing the puny human who even dared to tear through its first layer of exoskeleton, it grew enraged and focused solely on Magnus, not realizing that this is exactly what the hunters wanted.
With a smirk, Magnus started to wield his scythe in a complicated but fluid-like motion in order to both protect himself and redirect the arachnids' legs. His scythe was not dealing damage, but the now fog-turned mist was causing small cuts to appear all over the tip of its legs.
Noticing that the spider boss was focusing on his boyfriend, Jin-Woo dashes forward without a hindrance thanks to him getting into position earlier. As he got closer to the spider, he jumped so he could use the momentum he built up and reach the top of the spider.
*BOOOOOMMM*
Landing strike after strike on the spider's body caused the spider to slowly notice Jin-Woo on its back.
*BBBOOOOMMMM*
"Where do you think you're looking at?!" Magnus screamed out, as this time he made his scythe sharp enough where he cut a piece of flesh off the spider's leg. It was a small piece of flesh, in order to ensure that it wouldn't be limping. But that small piece of flesh was enough to make it angry once more.
*SSCCRRREEEECCCCHHHH*
The forgotten himbo was still shaking with fear in his original spot. He could still not process, or rather, accept the fact that these two hunters were their respective ranks. "W-who are they?!" He couldn't help but exclaim, as he watched them battle the monster.
Focusing on Jin-Woo, he saw how flexible he was and how precise his strikes have been. He wasn't able to notice the slight trace of light his eyes were giving off. 'An E-rank hunter?! No, there's no way.' He thought as he turned to face Magnus.
What he saw stunned him even more. He noticed that Magnus' deadly waltz had just turned into a full-on onslaught of attacks. All he could make out of the scythe was the afterimage of it striking and repositioning. The biggest surprise was that the fog from earlier seemed to have turned into a light but deadly mist. 'I heard rumors about the Dragon Reaper of Ice, but is he truly a C-rank hunter?'
At these thoughts, his trembling got even worse, as he raised one of his hands to cover his mouth as if trying to prevent himself from hurling. "B-but their stated rank in the association were definitely E and C... Those aren't the movements from either rank." He told himself as he started taking steps backward, trying to distance himself from the battlefield.
"Could they be... FALSE RANKERS?" At this thought, he dropped to his knees, no longer able to stay standing.
'Among hunters, there are sometimes those who can control the presence of their magical power. If they want to, they can artificially lower their evaluated rank!' Jin-Ho thought as he used the wall of the room as support to get back to his feet.
