In the quiet office, the tapping of fingers against keys was loud. Sitting infront of a computer was the 2nd Division Management Chief, An Sang-Min. 'The pair, Sung Jin-Woo, and Jin Magnus, have successfully made it through three anomalies on record. First was the double dungeon incident. Second was the deaths of Hwang Dongsuk's entire party. Third, and most recently, was the murder incident involving the association's surveillance supervisor.' He recounted as he typed the report up.
'The duo became acquainted with Yoo Jin-Ho during the second case. The most important thing about this Yoo Jin-Ho is his relation to Yoo-Jin architecture...' Sang-Min thought to himself, halting in typing as he looked at what he had written so far. 'There is a rumor going around that Chairman Yoo Meung-Han is recruiting skilled hunters with the intention of founding a guild. If this is true, it wouldnt be strange for Yoo Jin-Ho to try and profit from this.' As if finally solving this puzzle, a look of excitement appeared on Sang-Min's face.
'The recruitment of skilled hunters. E-rank Sung Jin-Woo, C-rank Jin Magnus. Clearing C-rank gates with insane speed. That means...' A flush of excitement was accompanied by a slightly shaking whisper: "Hunters Sung Jin-Woo and Jin Magnus could be reawakened individuals." One of his subordinates happened to hear him and shouted, "THEYRE BOTH REAWAKENED?!"
Startled, Sang-Min glared at this subordinate before sighing. "Yes. Otherwise, there's no way they could have survived these three incidents. Each one was a major accident where many of the participants died." Standing from his desk, he grabbed his bag and suit as he descended the building. "I don't mean to doubt you, sir, but are you certain?" The subordinate bravely asked, hoping his superior wouldnt take it the wrong way.
"There's no other explanation for it. According to the report on the latest incident, two C-rank magicians and a B-rank healer combined their strength to stop the supervising hunter... But that's stretching it." Sang-Min said as he gazed at his subordinate. Seeing the confusion and the fact he wanted to rebut, Sang-Min sighed before continuing. "Think about it. He was a B-rank assassin. Magic doesn't work well against assassins. He also wasn't stupid, so he would've taken care of the healer first. Therefore, in reality, it should have been two C-rank magicians versus a B-rank assassin." Sang-Min stopped, feeling his mouth a little dry from explaining so much.
Still doubtful, the subordinate said, "But reports show that Hunter Jin Magnus uses a scythe made of his ice magic in combat. There's even reports of him slaying an A-rank drake even though he's a C-rank." Considering this, Sang-Min nods and says, "While that's the case, I consulted a couple of mages in our raid teams, and they all say that the amount of mana control and concentration that would require is extraordinary. Plus, Hunter Jin Magnus and Hunter Song Chi-Yul have opposing elements. They wouldnt be able to work in tandem." Slowly, the light of realization appeared in his subordinate's eyes, 'Hehe... I wouldnt be the chief of recruiting if I didnt know my way with words.' Sang-Min proudly thought as he continued.
"That only leaves one possibility- That somebody else either took down the hunter from the surveillance department alone or they worked together. Back then, the only survivors were the B-rank healer, the two C-rank mages, two D-rank warriors... and the E-rank hunter. Nobody else. It was also proven that the D-ranks were out of commission for the entirety of the fight. That only leaves two people to be suspicious of. Another thing to think about. Why would the Guild Leader order for information on Jin Magnus?" With that, he kept walking, already wanting to leave the building.
"Sure seems like it then... But Chief An Sang-Min, where are we going right now?" The subordinate said, keeping two steps behind his superior. 'We? I never invited him, but I guess he can come along.' Sang-Min thought as he said, "Where?" With excitement in his voice, he said, "We're going scouting." Shocked, the subordinate thought, 'To think the Chief himself would go scouting... this isn't a normal occurrence at all!' "Hurry if you don't want to get left behind." "Yes!"
