Magnus of Ice

CLASS ADVANCEMENT QUEST?

On the fourth day of raiding, Jin-Woo, Magnus, and Jin-Ho stood inside the last dungeon of the day. This dungeon was relatively unique, not that the trio would know about it just yet. It was similar to the gate where they encountered the< LIZARDS>. As in, it was filled with arachnids.

Tsking, Magnus commented as he cut the legs off of the low-rise-sized spider in front of him. "Tsk. Out of all the animals in the animal kingdom, I think I hate spiders the most." Magnus had grown tired of using his scythe the entire time to fight; therefore, he decided that he would only get up close and personal when it was a boss. So, for mobs like these, he would either mass kill them or toy with them one by one. As to which fate this spider suffered, it was, unfortunately, the latter of the two.

"Oh... I thought you hated cats." Jin-Woo responded, finishing off his own spider. "Well, I hated cats for a short while, but I'll always hate spiders... Actually, I hate all insects. Are spiders insects...?" Magnus responded, looking at his baby with a contemplative look. Shrugging, Jin-Woo simply said, "I don't know... But 'insects' isn't a single animal." "I know that, but 'insects' is a family within the confines of the animal kingdom; therefore, it counts," Magnus said, his hands on his waist as he looked at Jin-Woo with a triumphant expression as if he had just proved himself right. "Hehe... Whatever you say, Mags. Also, do hurry a little; we're almost at the boss's room." Jin-Woo commented as he looked at the low-rise-sized spider.

Its claw and tarsus, the last section right before the claw, was frozen in ice, immobilizing it. It came in here thinking it would get a quick snack, but who would've thought it would actually meet a sadistic bully. "Scree..." it hissed, struggling against its confines. Hearing its hiss, Magnus raised an eyebrow as he said, "Oh? This one is a little feisty...." Smiling a devilish smile, Magnus raised his arm and pointed at the spider with a finger gun motion. "Although I would love to play with you... My baby already told me to hurry up.... Bang." Magnus started loud, narrating what he wanted to do to the spider, but he lowered his voice towards the end. At the sound of 'bang,' he acted like he shot with his finger gun, experiencing the recoil as he folded his arm. As soon as he did, an icicle was shot out of his finger, speeding toward the spider's hard exoskeleton.

"Even your thick skin won't safe you from death," Magnus said as he witnessed the horror and fear flash before the spider's eyes. As if it knew it was staring down death, the spider attempted to thrash around, forcibly hitting the walls and ceiling, trying to bring the cave down with it. "SCREEEE." It shouted as the icicle pierced through, leaving a four-inch wide hole in its wake. No blood flowed as the ice residue sealed the wound; instead, a stalk of Cleome hassleriana, Spider Flower, blossomed from the wound. Losing its life, the spider's body tumbled to the ground with a loud thud, causing dust and dirt to rise.

"Your kills always have such beautiful flowers... How come?" Jin-Woo asked as he lightly poked at the ice sculpture that appeared. "Hm... To be honest, I don't know. They've been appearing since I started hunting." Noticing the enraptured look Jin-Woo had as he gazed at the spider flower, Magnus chuckled as he suggested. "If you want, I can study up on flowers and explain them to you if they appear again." Jin-Woo just nodded, still enraptured by the beautiful blossom his boyfriend's magic created. "Also, spiders don't have skin."

Out of all the hunters alive, Jin-Woo is the only one able to correct Magnus and live to tell the tale, not that he knew. "I know... But it's a saying, right?" Magnus grinned as he approached his baby. "Hmm... I guess so." Jin-Woo added as he stood and started walking deeper into the dungeon.

Staring lovingly at his baby, Magnus said, "Jin-Ho, let's go." Instead of receiving the usual "Yes, boss." All he received was silence instead. Irked at the lack of response, Magnus turned and was about to rip a new one into Jin-Ho but stopped as he took in the appearance of the male.
