Logan was the first to notice the odd colors. He was helping Joan and Talyn edit the videos.

"I think we need to fix the lighting next time, it is too bright on one side of Janus's face," Logan told them, "it is hard to see his scales."

"Nah, I had to retake the shot three times with different lighting. It is just Janus's face," Joan said before showing the other shots.

Virgil was the one to notice it next. He was sneaking into the kitchen for some coffee before Remy drinks it all. Deciet was napping in his sun spot. He walked over to put a blanket on him. Janus was sleeping on his human side so the scales were up.

"Jan, are you okay? You are looking a bit pale."

Virgil tried to shake him awake and didn't work. So he panicked and summoned Patton.

"Janus is dead!"

"Janus is not dead."

"He is not moving, he is cold, and he is paler than me."

Patton held up a small mirror and held it under Janus's nose. A fog appeared as he was snoozing away.

"I told you he is not dead. He is just really pale on one side. The sun will help brighten up his scales."

Remus was the next one to notice it. He was trying to tickle Janus but he kept on failing because of the scales. Until he hit one soft spot. Half of his face turned a deep red.

"You look like something I want to keep in my room forever. Red with blood, cold touches, and paleness that has been kissed by death."

Janus took that moment to run away.

The sides, minus Janus, got together to try and figure out what is up with the two tone skin.

"I think it is the lighting of this place?" Logan wondered out loud.

"Maybe he is slowly dying?"

"Why don't we just ask his partners?" Roman asked and the sides looked at him.

"That's a great idea kiddo!"

The sides went over to Remy and Emile while they were on the couch flipping channels.

"Do either of you know why Janus's scale side is paler than his skin?" Logan asked while holding his notebook.

Emile stopped flipping channels as Remy took off his sunglasses.

"Gurl, it is quite simple," he sipped his coffee, "the dumbass likes to wait until the last second to shed his skin. It is just the faded color of his dead skin."

"Ooh," most of the sides said at the same time.
