Maeve:
Morning smells sweeter today. Eyes still closed a harmony of coffee and warm toasted bread infiltrate my nose. I open my eyes just enough for the light to peer through the. I have been home for almost three days now and I already got used to the smell of breakfast waking me up. I turn over to check the clock. I can hear mum and dad talking downstairs. Their laughter makes me smile. I am starving and decide to dress quickly, a cardigan over my shirt, Draco's shirt.I always sleep in it, ever since I found it.
I put on some comfy pyjama pants and my warm socks. I walk downstairs and mum greets me with a smile
"Morning!" She squeals.
"Good morning" I reply yawning
"Oh. Morning sweetheart" My dad greets me from the sofa.
I walk to the kitchen cabinet and grab a glass. Run the tap for a second and fill it. I take a gulp and sigh, refreshed.
"Want some toast?" She asks.
"Yeah, thanks mum" I mutter.
She looks at me as I sit at the table, grabbing the piece of toast.
"Darling we'll need to speak to you today okay?" She speaks as if she's hiding fear.
"About?" I reply slowly and clearly.
I am now spreading honey on my toast.
"Nothing to worry about, just want to see how you are and how you have been" She starts with a smile but it breaks and her face turns to concern.
"And.. we need to talk about your safety during your stay here" She finishes regretfully.
I hear my dad's newspaper rumbling.
"Yes mum I know! We need to be safe, look out, I know" A slight exasperation in my voice.
"Well no." her voice calm she looks at me reprovingly.
"Your father and I will have to leave London for a couple of days, a week at most." I see her look over to my dad.
His newspaper now rested on his lap. I look at them both. What are they up to?
"Where to?" I ask trying to remain calm.
I take a bite of my toast.
"Austria, some silly work trip but, that's not the point Mea" She recollects herself.
"The point is, you will be alone, and need to practice some extra safety. You know, just as precaution."
I furrow my eyebrows.
"Look, it's nothing to worry about! Just as always, be careful and everything will be fine! We'll leave after Christmas and will be back to have a few more days with you before you leave" She goes on.
