mr Eacker, how was the rest of your play?

After lunch I sent my letter off

A few days later

I had gotten an invite from Eliza to come over since Philip would be out of college, I mean, I was obviously going to go, how could I not? It was Philip, however I hadn't thought about alex, I hadn't spoken to him since he realised that pamphlet years ago, if I saw him there, what would I do? I hadn't even seen my brother since he did that, I avoided him, angelica ripped him a new one so I didn't have to, which was actually the only reason I didn't say anything to him, either way, I'd have to figure that out

The next day

I got ready and then helped the kids get ready as Lafayette waited for us to be ready, once we were we left our home for the Hamilton/schuyler estate, once arriving we saw that Philip was already there, he seemed a bit nervous but that was alright, he came over and greeted us as we entered the living room, Philip picked g/n up and smiled at her, spinning her around a bit before letting her go run off with his siblings 

"hi aunt y/n" Philip smiled "hello uncle lafayette"

"hello Philip, how was collage?" i questioned 

"it was great!" he said excitedly  

"thats wonderful" i smiled, lafayette gently placed his hand on my back, whispering to me then walking away, i nodded and looked at Philip but before i could say anything he spoke up

"a-aunt y/n? can i talk to you? about something important? outside?" he questioned 

i raised an eyebrow and nodded "yeah" before i could blink he had already started to walk out the door, i followed, once the door closed he looked at me

"before i say anything, please dont tell mom or get mad...." he started to fidget with his fingers 

"okay...what is it?" i looked at him, starting to get concerned 

"i got into a duel and..i wanted to know if you'd accompany me as our doctor..please" he spoke fast and looked between me and the ground 

"i- wait..a duel?" i took a minute "okay, i'll  do it" he looked at me seeming surprised

"really?" he raised an eyebrow "and..you wont tell anyone?" he questioned

"i wont tell a soul" i assured 

he nodded "okay..tomorrow morning, before sunrise, across the river in jersey, i'll stop by and wait for you" he told me  

i nodded "alright, i'll be ready" i told him and then walked into the house, after that we spent a couple of hours with the family before returning home, once home i got my medical kit ready for the next morning, i didnt tell lafayette about this, for obvious reasons, i didnt go to sleep that night, i waited up for philip to come by around the time he said he would, once he arrived i sailed with him across the river to jersey, Eacker was there, seeming to have only just arrived as well, philip tried to start a conversation with Eacker but he didnt seem to be in the mood, they had me turn away from the scene so i could have deniability, took ten paces and counted to ten then i heard a gunshot, it seemed early, i turned around to see Philip lowering his gun from the sky and holding his side, i rushed over, getting what i needed out of the medical kit and tending to Philip

"y/n?..." he questioned groggily

"shhh Philip its alright...just stay awake okay?" i looked at him then back at his wounds, this was bad, this was really bad, i needed to get him to a hospital asp

"but, y/n..." he protested and coughed 

"shhhh save your strength" i did the best i could with bandaging him and keeping pressure on his main wound, after awhile I finally was able to start getting him back across the river and to a hospital around new york city, I had dont everything I possibly could have with what I had and the time I had, hopefully he would be okay but I was unsure, later that day Alexander arrived and hurried to find Philip, the doctor tried to calm alex but did show him to Philip, soon after that Eliza rushed in and was escorted to Philips room, I was very unsure of how this would go, alex and Eliza in the same room, I mean they've barely spoken if at all since the pamphlet, and now they're son is laying on his deathbed and they're possibly watching him die, god, my heart hurts just thinking about it, not to long after I heard a blood curdling scream, it sounded like Eliza, I felt myself tearing up, oh no, this can't be good, I looked around, soon seeing peggy and angelica, they both looked at me and walked over, before I could say anything angelica spoke

"Do you think he'll survive?" Angelica questioned

"If you're talking about Philip, I can only hope, he lost a lot of blood, however if you're talking about alex, I doubt it" I sighed

"They were just starting to speak to each other too..."peggy sighed sadly

"Alex and Eliza were speaking to each other?" I questioned

Angelica nodded "it was about their kids"

"I see.." I sighed, this was awful "where are the rest of their kids?"

"At the house, the oldest ones are taking care of the younger ones since all the adults are out" peggy smiled softly

"I see..." I sighed "I suppose now we just wait" the girls nodded.
