secrets

over the past few weeks i've been busy so i havent had much time to spend with lafayette but that was ok, i was doing important stuff, with my help washington was doing alright, not the best, but alright, i couldnt help but feel like i was on the verge on finding something that would help whatever washington was dealing with go away, but today was one  of my free days which i was spending reading different books to try and help come up with answers for martha, but soon there was a knock at my door

"mon ange? may i come in?" lafayette questioned 

i looked over at my door "come in" i said tiredly, i hadnt slept in about a week 

lafayette opened the door and furrowed his brows as he saw me "mon cher have you slept recently? " he questioned as he walked over to me

i smiled up at him "hello" i ignored his questioned

lafayette sighed "dont ignore my concerns" he put his hand on my shoulder "have you been sleeping properly?" he asked

i sighed softly and put my head on my desk "no..." i let my papers move around as i moved my head to look at lafayette

"mon cher you have to sleep" laf said sternly

i groan slightly "im fine" i left my head from my desk

"if you do not sleep willingly i will make you" laf crossed his arms

"you cant make me sleep" i roll my eyes

laf smirked "oh yeah? im pretty sure i can" he gently brushed his hand threw my hair

"it doesnt work like that" i sighed looking up at him, just then, lafayette put his arms around me and picked me up, i panicked a little but didnt have much time to as i was quickly set down on my bed "laf..." i sigh, but lafayette didnt say anything, he just flopped onto the bed next to me, pulling me close to him and making me lay down "laf.." i protested the whole thing, but i didnt fight it

"mon ange we aren't moving until you sleep" laf smiled, holding me close 

"but laf.." i sigh and gently try to push laf away from me but it didnt work, so i just laid there in his arms, he was so warm, it was so nice, i close my eyes and rested my head on his chest, i tried no to fall asleep but i ended up falling asleep in his arms, when i woke up i felt my hair being messed with a little, i opened my eyes sleepily looking up at laf, i smiled softly 

"good morning mon cher..how was you nap?" laf questioned in a soft low voice

"it was fine.." i sleepily mumbled

laf chuckled lightly "im glad..you seemed happy" he smiled

i looked around "what time is it?" i asked

laf groaned slightly "stooop" he held me tightly "just stay here with me" 

"lafayette please..it looks like its getting dark.." i sigh softly as i try to get out of lafs arms, eventually he let me go and i looked out the window "the sun is setting laf...god what if alexander walked in? he would have killed you" i shake my head and fix my hair

"well, he didnt.." laf said as he got up " he wouldnt have killed me, he loves me too much" he smiled and walked over to me, just then we heard a knock on the door and before i could even say anything alexander opened the door

"y/n..laf..." alexander narrowed his eyes at us "why have you two been in here for so long?..laf got here at noon and now dinner is almost ready and you havent left this room.." 

"alex..relax, as you can clearly see nothing happened" i chuckled softly

"mon amie you know i wouldnt do such a thing"  laf said as he put his hands up

"..uh-huh..dinner is almost ready so...get ready" alex said as he walked away

i sighed "i told you he'd kill you if saw us laying together" i giggled softly then went to the living room with laf, where all of alexs' kids where playing, i watched them and laf held my hand, laf had a big smile on his face as he watched alexs' kids play, i smiled at him, soon dinner was ready and we all sat at the table and ate, after dinner laf pull alex aside and they walked outside, i raised an eyebrow but didnt say anything, instead i watched the kids with eliza, soon alex walked in, putting his jacket on as he kissed elizas cheek

"where are you going alex?" eliza asked with a soft sigh

"i'll be back before bed" alex smiled at eliza 

"alex-" eliza called but alex had already left, i furrowed my brows since apparently lafayette left without saying a word to anyone but alex, i didnt like that but i pushed all of those thoughts away soon deciding to go to sleep, after helping eliza get all the kids down first of course, i went to sleep, trying not to think about why laf kind of just ignored me after dinner, the next morning i was making breakfast with eliza when alexander walked into the kitchen, he seemed excided about something and pulled eliza aside and whispered something to her, her eyes lit up a little and she smiled, walking back over to what she was doing

"what did he tell you?" i asked 

"nothing~" eliza giggled softly

"..doesnt sound like nothing.." i looked at eliza

"its nothing y/n" eliza assured me

"if you say so.." i sighed softly, after breakfast, i went over to the washingtons house, since i had to check up on washingtons health, however when i got there i was about to knock when the door opened and i almost hit lafayette, i took a step back as laf froze 

"oh, mon cher what are you doing here?" he questioned, scratching the back of his neck 

"im here to meet with george, why are you here? we could have walked together if i knew you where gonna be here" i said as i looked at him

"oh uhm, i was just doing the same" laf chuckled sightly "well i have to go now, enjoy your meeting" he then walked away

"oh uh..ok..bye i guess.." i sighed softly, frowning as i walked in, then went to do a check up on washington, i tried to ask him about why lafayette was here but i didnt get any answers out of him either, why was everyone keeping things from me today?
