bella stared at her window- her eyes dazing the twinkling stars and the crescent moon. a lot of thoughts and recollections from the past has surfaced in her mind. she was thinking whether it was the ambiance that caused her to be emotional with her thoughts or she really needed to do something to stand up for herself.

bella had the urge to sneak out. just for the stars; to be closer to them. she just wanted to feel something, wanting to seek in comfort in the ethereal, endless galaxy.

bella hesitated to slid up her unlocked, thinking of what her parents will unexpectedly open her door and think that their child is suddenly missing.

she remembered that she already told her parents that she was asleep as she locked her door.

the playground wasn't that much of a distance which caused an advantage and more urging to sneak out at 8' o clock at night.

she clicked her tongue, suddenly having the courage to sneak out. she stared down at the grass and noticed the height difference between her window and the group. she hopes that it won't cause a noise with her stomp.

bella licked her bottom lip before awkwardly going down. it was clearly her first time sneaking out and she doesn't know what to do.

she glanced at the back of the house, eyeing that her parents' bedroom's lights are shut off, meaning that they were asleep.

bella started to carefully walk towards the playground, excited to lay on the sand staring at the stars- feeling at peace.

while walking, she looked around her surroundings- noticing the swaying trees from the chilly breeze. she stared at the light stamps, her eyes squinting from how bright it was in the darkness.

she held herself in her small pink hoodie, chills sending in her spine which caused her to sniffle.

of course bella was anxious around her. she barely go outside in the dark, who knows what can unexpectedly happen! especially when she's a child alone.

nervously, she started to pace her speed to go to the playground quickly.

bella huffed her breath, slowing her pace down when she stared at the empty sand in front of her.

'if i have gotten chocolate with me right now, this experience would've been 10x better' bella thought while walking towards the sand, eyeing which spot would be the best to gaze at the stars.

she sighed after plotting her body flat as her eyes were directly at the stars, each at every one of them.

it was very comforting and endearing to bella, somehow seeing sparkles just like in the cartoons felt overwhelming. the stars don't do much, but they shined the brightest while blinking.

"bella?" a sudden voice called to bella which caused her heart to jump, interrupting her thoughts while staring at the stars.

instinctively, she looked at the direction of where she was called. she squinted her eyes a bit to focus on the figure who called her.

her eyes were looking at a black hair figure, relatively the same age as her with an innocent and shocked expression. the boy grew curiosity at the girl who looked somehow scared.

"jake?" she called out, asking if that's really him.

ah jake. sim jake- a popular kid around the neighborhood. bella and jake know about each other's existence but they weren't that close to be labeled as 'friends', rather much an 'acquaintance'.

because their neighborhood was small, everyone practically knew each other. the parents' would talk with each other while the children played outside with their toys. sometimes, a family would invite the whole neighborhood for a bbq party and a backyard garden.

"it's you." jake sounded like he was in relief when he spotted bella, thinking it would be a stranger kid roaming around.

bella placed her hands on the ground, going upwards to properly talk to jake. "what are you doing here.. so late?" she emphasized the last part with worry and concern.

although bella and jake weren't close, bella has a soft heart, whether to her friends or to strangers- which brings her a bright and friendly image with those around her.

jake lightly chuckled, while scratching his head in embarrassment. "i could ask the same.. tonight looked pretty, just came to look at the stars." bella hummed while nodding in response.

"i'm guessing you're here for that as well?" jake pursed his lips as well, standing awkwardly next to bella.

bella nodded. "and i'm guessing you sneak out often?" she raised her eyebrow when she said the word 'often', thinking that jake might have a bad image in her mind.

jake shook his head. "depends." he replied while glancing up the stars. "stars are pretty to look at, i would rather look at them than let my eyes shut down in darkness."

bella looked at jake, noticing his soft expression when he looked up the stars.

she sighed as she placed a hand next to her. jake looked down at her with confusion. "sit." bella requested straightforwardly but with a light smile so jake won't think that she's being mean.
