school was officially done for today- relieved since tomorrow is the weekend.

bella's main focus was avoiding jake's presence when she's gonna walk home. and jake found it obvious due to her rapid steps when she's near him, removing eye contact when jake spotted her, and literally doing anything to avoid him.

as she walked down the stairs of the school entrance, sunghoon quickly followed behind.

"bella!" he quickly called out, trying to catch his breath.

bella turned around, stopping her tracks to give attention to sunghoon.

"what's up?" her eyebrows raised.

sunghoon looked at the ground. he was unsure whether to ask her this or not, but he needed confidence.

"are you walking home?" sunghoon innocently asked.

bella looked at him suspicious. "the last you walked me home, i came back with an almost twisted ankle." she lightly scoffed.

sunghoon's cheeks heated from the pure embarrassment.

"not my fault you wanted to ice skate while going home." sunghoon defended himself. bella crossed her arms with pursed lips.

"it was fun though. wanna do it today?" bella asked with her eyes smiling like star crescents.

sunghoon's mood lighten up from that excitement.

"today? i'm down-"

"i don't think she can." jake suddenly appeared behind the two of them with his hands on his pockets.

bella glared at jake, cursing at him mentally.

sunghoon tilted his head, "sorry?"

"i hope you know bella and i live in the same neighborhood." jake casually explains, walking down the stairs, stopping his tracks at the same level as bella.

bella gave a sorry look at sunghoon whose lips opened from the sudden news.

"her parents are gonna be worried if i don't take her home soon." jake added- wearing a smile at him, causing sunghoon to look down at the ground, dumbfounded.

"time to go bella." jake grabbed her shoulder to turn herself around and started walking.

"sunghoon! tomorrow! text me!!" bella loudly spoke while jake was pulling her, feeling utterly bad for the sunghoon standing there by himself with a pouted expression.

sunghoon shook it off and nodded, waving goodbye at bella when they're gonna meet tomorrow.

"what was that about?" bella faced jake with a deadpan expression, and sounding a bit intense.

jake shrugged it off. "why? it's true, your parents are gonna be questioning why you are coming home late. i just saved your ass."

bella scoffed, disbelief at his words. "okay but you don't have to say that in front of sunghoon, he's a softhearted one!" she warned, earning a chuckle from jake.

"you've been avoiding me all day, especially when giving back my sweater." jake casually replied, silencing bella in embarrassment.

she shallowed her throat, "look you were working, i didn't want to bother you." she excused, rolling her eyes at jake while facing at what's in front of her while jake was walking next to her.

"i don't mind being bothered as long as it's you." jake glanced at bella, finding her bite her bottom lip.

"hey at least you're gonna hang out with him tomorrow. what a fun." jake sarcastically said that last sentence, mixing with an innocent and harsh tone into it.

bella sighed, noticing it. "whatever. i can't believe i left sunghoon by himself."

"don't feel bad." jake muttered, shoving his heads into his front pockets. "he'll understand if he's your friend."

bella nodded, agreeing. "yeah we are friends ever since high school started." she introduced.

"sunghoon has always been the introverted and shy type. our personalities suddenly clicked when we met. he's gotten better at talking and expressing his feelings better." bella chuckled, reminded of the baby days.

"you're such a good friend, changing him for the better." jake praised with a proud tone. bella's heart somehow fluttered by the compliment.

"i hope that never changes us. being friends."
