"oh my god." bella flipped herself in bed, smacking her head in the pillow.

it was the day before monday and clearly she couldn't sleep. it was unusual of her. it was already early monday morning but no signs of her falling asleep were visible.

her thoughts were filled of jake
nothing else, despite how much she tried to think of something else, jake always come back and appear in her mind. he never escapes her mind.

she faced her body flat, staring at the ceiling with two palms touching her face. she was losing it because she's gonna be real moody in the morning if she won't have enough sleep.

as jake and bella was sitting in an empty table, they were comfortable eating as jake and bella were facing each other.

"i didn't even memorize the chemistry formulas." bella sighed as she placed a spoonful of the cake, munching on it as she dazed at the ground- her minds lingering of overthinking.

jake had to do something to stop bella thinking so negatively every moment.

"you're gonna do fine, it's two months from now." jake reassured, planting his soft smile that melted bella's heart.

"two months can make a different." she fiddled the cake with the spoon with her ducked lips.

jake puckered his lips, "manifest at this point." bella chuckled at that response, i mean he isn't wrong.

bella took another bite of the cake, a small smudge of the cream around the corners of her lips as she didn't noticed and continued eating.

jake noticed and was a bit hesitant to do or say something, he thought,

'if i can express my feelings for bella, this is the time'

jake gulped, impulsively grabbing bella's chin with his hand. bella's eyes made eye contact with jake's. his thumb pressing her skin, sliding the cream off the corners of her trembling lips.

bella's heart was beating fast- i mean real fast that it echoed her whole body as they slowly made eye contact with one another.

"ah fuck you jake!" she screamed into the pillow as her legs were ruffling inside her blanket.

every time she relived that moment, there's a feeling in her stomach. she didn't want to admit it herself, but she sensed that she was getting butterflies.

she grabbed her phone to text sunghoon; despite knowing he's probably sleeping.

2:00am

i can't sleep right now so if i'm being moody this morning, i apologize in advance D:

and then she pressed jake's contact right below sunghoon's.

if i look like i'm gonna murder you in any shape or form this morning, i half heartedly apologize in advance because i can't sleep since the heavens decided to put a curse on me :)

she whined once again when she placed her phone on her bed.

she lightly jumped at her ringtone, vibrating the bed that removed her thoughts.

she slowly picked it up to see the name, jake the frog

her heartbeat was racing fast, in nervousness? in excitement? in anticipation? she couldn't even tell her own emotions.

she slowly accepted the call, facing her bed sideways while her phone was facing flat.

"you can't sleep?" bella was taken aback at jake's deep, sleepy voice. that she was somehow scared and how much it changed compared to earlier.

"did i wake you up?" bella whispered, nervously asking. jake chuckled, "no, i was thinking."

"thinking of what?" bella curiously asked. jake sighed on the call.

"is it about exams?"

jake lightly scoffed at bella's answer, "you're always thinking about exams huh?"

bella rolled her eyes, "i mean, what else?"

jake had to rethink his excuse, "it's nothing too serious."

"how about you? why cant you sleep?" jake asked bella. she puffed her cheeks.

"what is it now? is it about exams?" jake mocked in a sarcastic high-pitched voice, imitating bella's tone.

"hey! i do not sound like that!" she protested at jake which made him tsk lightly.

"probably not too serious either.." bella replied back, cuddling her blanket more. "if i don't sleep any longer, the worse my mood will be." she muttered, trying to close her eyes.

"hmm.." jake thought. "should i sing you something?"

bella's pulse started to increase more and more until her body echoed her heartbeat.

"w-what?"

"close your eyes, maybe it will work." jake suggested as bella tried closing her eyes.

jake started to sing in his sleepy, deep voice but had a sweet melody into his singing. it was melting for sure. the way he sang, his sincere emotions, it felt surreal. it felt like a mini lullaby that can cure every one's sleeping problem.

"bella?" jake called out, but no silence- and some little snores that jake could hear at the other call.

"goodnight bella." he chuckled before hanging up on sleeping bella.
