after bella went towards the staffs' office to drop off errands, she went through the cafeteria after finding a familiar boy standing still in front of the vending machine.

due to her curiosity, she walked towards the figure. her eyes peeked down, as a bag of chips were stuck.

"is it stuck?" jake shrieked at bella's voice next to him, making him grasp his heart and closing his eyes.

bella removed her hands some her hoodie pocket. bella kicked the vending machine harshly like it was regular thing to do.

the chips were able to fall, making jake excitedly get his awaited chips.

bella gave a tight smiled before entering a dollar bill. her plastic coffee cup going down.

bella sat down next to jake after she stabbed the coffee with a straw with the small table behind them, acting as a seat.

"i found it funny." jake looked down at his feet, sniggering.

"about what?" bella asked jake, glancing at him as she took a sip.

"i remembered you didn't like coffee back then." jake smiled bitterly, reminiscing the old memories.

bella shrugged, "of course i didn't like it, i was nine." she emphasized the word, 'nine'

jake looked at bella, sipping her coffee, admiring her bluntness towards him.

"you remembered ? when you were nine ?" jake asked with an eyebrow raised which made bella realized what she just said.

she licked her dry lips, trying to make sure she didn't look obvious. "no not like that, i just remembered i was a kid."

jake frowned when bella didn't seem to remember.

"i'm going now." bella stated, standing up. jake nodded as he wanted to stay longer to organize some thoughts.

bella shrugged it off and went upstairs back to her classroom.

jake had a lot of thoughts occupied, 'does she really not remember our memories? is she pretending? does she not like me that much? is she ignoring me purposely? i know she remembers me, but i feel like she's acting like she's not.'

bella slid the door opened to see jay and sunghoon working peacefully with their books opened, writing compared to the rest of the students yelling and talking to one another.

"ew chemistry." bella shivered in fear. she got the chills after glancing at what sunghoon was working on.

bella walked back to her seat, crossing her legs sideways as sunghoon smiled to her.

"that reminds me, i really need to start my homework so that i can sleep." bella talked to herself as she shifted facing upfront. she was pulling a work book out of her desk, flipping to the assigned pages.

"must be nice to get sleep." jay muttered his breath since sounded jealousy and holding a grudge.

"must be nice to get straight a+'s." bella talked back as sunghoon whispered an 'oohhh~' compressing his laughter tightly.

"must be-"

sunghoon turned around to face jay and glance at bella. "before you guys start bickering, just a reminder that's it not even afternoon. it's too early for this." sunghoon reasoned as jay bitterly shallowed.

"he means that i won." bella sarcastically joked, sticking out his tongue at jay who made his fist clenched tighter on his desk.

"shut it. i don't wanna talk to a person who has lower grades than me." jay spit out as bella scoffed with wide eyes.

"WHAT-"

once bella stood up from her seat with a shocked expression, sunghoon quickly stood in front of her, hands in front of his chest to stop bella from doing unnecessary drama.

bella glared at jay who was suddenly giggling and smiling at her.

"calm down little tiger." sunghoon awkwardly smiled, gulping at bella's bitchy expression.

bella eyed the scared boy in front of her which caused him to sent into chills from his spine.

"i should've threw that box at that ratatouille." in words of ratatouille, bella nicknamed that for jay. sunghoon bit her bottom lip to hide his laughter, closing his eyes at the ceiling.

jake saw the scene in front of him, seeing the way sunghoon is looking at bella.

it somehow made him wretched and gloomy. he shook his head, trying to be positive.

"they're just friends." he affirmed himself. he planted a smile and walked towards his desk after sunghoon settled bella down.

jake licked his lips and looked at bella who focused her eyes on her work.

it reminded him of the old bella, her resemblance of being a kid was still there.

he smiled to himself.
