The devil

Newt POV
She was screaming and it was killing me. But she stopped, she just stopped screaming.

"What happened?!" I yelled.

Shuri ran over to the machine control.

"I don't know!" She yelled back.

Then there came a bang from inside the dome and then another and then another. Then the dome broke and fell to the floor and there was Aurora sat in a ball on the bed with her head tucked away. I walked towards her cautiously.

"Aura love, are you ok? I'm sorry for making you do that," I said.

She stared crying and I rested a hand on her back. But I realised that crying was actually laughter when she lifted up her head giggling like a madwoman her eyes were puffy and red but glowing blue and she turned to look at me. When she spoke her voice echoed.

"Awe little Newtie sorry for making me do that. Pathetic!" She yelled.

I jumped back as she walked calmly toward me, her hips swaying side to side as she took each step.

"Devil!" Shuri shouted pressing an alarm.

Aurora screamed and covered her ears.

"Come on we gotta go! The alarm won't hold her off for long!" Shuri said dragging me out of the room.

The last thing I saw when I turned back to look at her, was her face. She looked like the devil. Her hair and eyes glowed and there were now devil horns, an angel halo and wings. The doors slammed shut like they used to in the maze and Shuri pulled me and Thor with her. We ran down corridors and back out to T'challa and the rest.

"What is wrong Shuri," T'challa asked.

"I put Aurora in the machine I designed and now she's gone full blown devil!" Shuri rambled.

The avengers looked between themselves and Lilly looked worried. T'challa looked around for the guards of Wakanda.

"Dora Milaje, hold off the devil!" He yelled and a bunch on women ran in the direction we had just came from.

"Now we have time to figure out a plan, Shuri has closed the doors and I have sent the fiercest women here!" T'challa exclaimed.

We heard a bang come from inside.

"Or not," Tony said.

"Here's what we're going to do," Lilly started. "We will use Shuri as bait because Rora will most likely hate her for putting her in the machine, then we will all attack and try calm her down. If that doesn't work, Newt will come out and try to calm her down seeing as they are a couple a.k.a Newra for life!" Lilly shouted at us mumbling the last part where she mentioned our ship name.

We all agreed and we heard another bang.

"POSITIONS!" Lilly screamed and I hid inside the quinjet with Thomas as we made sure to stay out of the avengers and Lilly's way.

Aura came limping out crying. She had blood on her hands and she was looking at the ground. There was no way she had controlled her devil side that fast but it seemed as if she did. Shuri stood in the middle of the platform and walked towards Aura slowly.

"Hey is it you again?" Shuri asked.

Aura nodded and Shuri pulled her into a hug. Thomas went to stand up but I pulled him back.

"Something's not right," I told him.

It was at that moment I knew I was right. Aura's grip on Shuri tightened and she smiled like she did before.

"Oh Shuri, I shed one tear and you think it's me?" Aura asked sarcastically. "Pity pity."

Shuri pushed her away.

"What is wrong with you!?" She screamed.

"Well Shuri let me tell you this quote I learned; 'The sky is above me, the earth is below me, people are around me but the devil is inside me'," she exclaimed smiling as he voice echoed. "I am the devil, I will always be the devil."

Then the avengers flipped in and Wanda tied her arms and legs together. She just smiled as her eyes and hair flowed again, her smile grew as she became what she was the last time I saw her before Shuri shut the doors. Her 'wings' expanded breaking free of Wanda's red magic chains, she swung a hand at half the avengers making them fall to the ground. She attempted to swipe her other palm but Lilly grabbed it and tackled her to the floor. Then Tony jumped on top of them and Thor put his hammer on the back of Tony's suit in attempt to keep Aura down. She wouldn't stay down though, she growled and tried wiggling out from under the two above her.

"Now!" Lilly screamed and I limped out the quinjet and grabbed Aura's hand.

"Aura, I know the real you is in there just come out." I said as gently as I could.

"This is the real me Newtie." She snapped.

"No the real Aurora wouldn't hurt her friends or call us pathetic," I replied.

"This is the other side of me, the side that doesn't give a shit if she hurts her friends by words or actions," she snapped back.

I didn't know what else to say, Aura had beaten me. There was only one thing left to do and I had no idea if it would work. I let go of her hand and she smirked, she threw Lilly, Tony and Thor's hammer off her and as she got up she grabbed my arm and burned my shoulder. I winced and as soon as she got up and turned to attack me again, I kissed her. She struggled at first, trying to get away from me, but eventually she kissed me back and I knew the devil was gone. I stood up straight, breaking away from her lips and looking into her eyes.

"I'm so sorry," she whispered.

"It's ok, I'm ok." I told her, pulling her into a tight hug.

Shuri then ran up to us and apologised for the machine but Aura apologised as well.

"I'm sorry," she said.

"No I'm sorry," Shuri exclaimed.

They went back and forth saying sorry and everyone looked from Rora to Shuri.

"Okayyyyy we get it," I said simply pulling Rora back into a hug.

"We need to study your devil so we know what to do when Newt isn't around," Tony said.

I looked down at Rora who was looking at Tony.

Aurora POV
"If we do that we need to measure the strength from before, the door that I burst through should still have some devil magic on it," I explained.

T'challa nodded then lead us back to the room. When we got there, I was mortified. There were women's bodies everywhere. Their were spears through their chests and some hearts ripped out their chests over the floor and they were all in pools of blood. T'challa looked around and rage grew on his face.

"T'challa I am so sorry! I have no control over the devil and couldn't stop it!" I cried as tears threaten to pour from my eyes.

T'challa turned to me and Newt protectively stepped in front of me. T'challa nodded to me, who was cowering behind Newt, and I stood up straighter and nodded back.

"I understand it want your fault and I forgive you." He said before turning back to the room and walking to the doors.

Newt grabbed onto my hand and squeezed it reassuringly. I gave him a weak smile before following the king to the door. After the rest of the group had walked around the dead Dora Milaje and to the door, Tony grabbed some of the metal and examined it in his hand. The devil magic that was left over crept into his suit and started destroying his systems.

"Here," I said grabbing the metal and it calmed down in my palm.

Everyone looked at me surprised.

"What? I did this after all," I exclaimed.
