Strawberries

Aurora POV
"How bout we go on a date?" Newt asked. "That's if we're back together."

I looked up at him and smiled.

"Yes we are back together I guess, and yes I would love to go on a date with you," I responded.

Now it was his turn to smile. He dragged me up to the roof of the compound where he already had a picnic set up.

"You were prepared I was gonna say yes to the date weren't you," I smiled wider.

"Of course. You've never said no to a date," he responded.

I pecked his cheek and sat down to eat. I was starving. Luckily Newt had prepared all my favourite things. We sat down then ate and talked for hours. It was just us and it was nice.

"So, how's your training going?" I asked Newt.

"Not good. I suck at it," he mentioned looking down and playing with his food.

"Hey," I replied putting a couple of fingers under his chin and turning his head so he'd look at me. "I'm sure you don't suck at it. Oh and don't play with your food."

I dropped my hand from his chin and picked up the last strawberry. As I put it to my lips, I shut my eyes, ready to enjoy the sweet taste, but it was grabbed out of my hand and my eyes snapped open just in time to see Newt shove the strawberry in his gob and swallow it.

"HEY!" I shouted. "THAT WAS MY STRAWBERRY!"

"Jeez relax. There's more food here," he replied picking up a piece of chocolate.

I felt my eyes flicker blue and I growled under my breath. "I wanted that strawberry."

"Wow, way to get worked up about a strawberry. Luckily I can prepared." Newt mentioned taking out more strawberries.

My eyes dulled as fast as they had glowed and they lit up happily at the sight of them. Newt laughed as I reached for a strawberry and picked up a nice, sweet looking one. I happily ate the strawberry and some chocolate.

"I'm guessing you like strawberries," Newt whispered.

"Nah, they're sweet but I like chocolate more," I chuckled as his face dropped from a smile to a frown.

"So you weren't mad at me for eating the strawberry?!" He said frowning more.

"Nope," I responded, popping the 'p'.

He glared at me and I giggled.

"I just wanted to see your reaction," I giggled.

He lunged at me and I shrieked. He sat on my waist and tickled me like crazy. I laughed hard as my stomach started to hurt.

N-newtie y-your hurting m-me!" I laughed trying to push him off of me.

Newt's once fake angry face turned into a worried one as he rolled off me and checked my body to make sure I was ok.

"Newt." I said but he ignored me. "NEWT!"

He looked up at me from where he was checking my body.

"I'm ok. It's just when you sat on me you kinda crushed me," I told him.

"Oh, I'm sorry!" Newt exclaimed pulling me into a huge hug.

"Now your crushing me again!" I wheezed.

Newt let go of me and kissed me multiple times all over my face.

"Ok now your smothering me," I mumbled.

Newt completely let go of me and sat watching me.

"Now your creeping me out," I mumbled slowly moving backwards.

Newt looked away from me and out into the distance.

"Oh, look! Sunset!" Newt cried.

"Oh pretty!" I smiled kissing him on the cheek and nuzzling into his chest.

"What the fu-" We heard a voice cry out.

We turned towards the voice to see two figures standing there.

"Shit," we both muttered to each other, exchanging looks.

There stood in the shadows of the setting sun was Lilly and Thomas standing there open mouthed.

"When did you get back together?!" Lilly yelled out.

"W-well..." I started.

"WHEN!?" Thomas yelled throwing the roses I'd given him to hold before to the ground.

Newt jumped back slightly and I pushed myself to stand.

"Don't shout," I told him putting out my hands in a surrender type manner. "It's ok he made up with me."

"Doesn't mean you can get back together straight away!" Thomas called out angrily.

"I can do what I want," I told him, anger staring to bubble inside of me.

"I'm like your brother! I can tell you what to-" Thomas started.

"YOU CANNOT TELL ME WHAT TO DO!" My voice echoed as I felt my eyes glow.

Newt put himself between us both and Lilly stepped between Newt and Thomas but I looked past them both and glared at him.

"Aura, love, it's ok. You don't need to get angry at Thomas for being himself and trying to protect you," Newt whispered to me. "He didn't mean to say what he said. It's just a-a- I don't know how to explain it but it's ok, he didn't mean it. Did you Tommy?"

"N-no, I didn't, I was just saying it because I don't have a girlfriend and can't manage alone," Thomas said and I could tell he came up with the last part on the spot.

"So, they can get back together but we can?" Lilly asked looking at him.

"I didn't say we couldn't." Thomas said.

"Soooooo, can we get back together?" Lilly asked with a huge smile.

"Yeah if you want," Thomas replied looking down to play with his hands.

Lilly smiled brightly and hugged him tightly. Thomas smiled and hugged back. Newt and I looked at each other and my eyes dulled back to their hazel colour and he hugged me as well. I hugged him back and we sunk to the floor. Thomas and Lilly sunk to the floor as well and we all looked between each other.

"LILLY! THOMAS! AURORA! NEWT!" Tony yelled from inside.

"YES TONY!" Thomas, Newt and I yelled out.

"YES DAD!" Lilly called out as well.

"GO TO BED! YOU GUYS HAVE SCHOOL TOMORROW!" He called back.

"UHHHHHHH!" We all whined.

"School, after the perfect past few days." I whined. "School sucks."

Newt rested his chin on my head and I rested mine on his chest.

"We will go to school," Newt whispered.

"Even if it kills us?" Thomas joked.

"Even if it kills us," Newt joked back.
