Aurora POV
It had been a few months since Lilly disappeared and everyone was working round the clock to pick up some trace of her. Newt had banned me and Thomas from working seeing as we wouldn't take one break at all, not even to sleep. So there I was, sat with Thomas on the couch, reading. Thomas and I read together, well he read his book and I'd read mine, and it was peaceful.

"How far in are you?" Thomas asked for the hundredth time this morning.

"Halfway," I said. "You?"

"Over halfway," He snickered.

We were having a race to see who could finish the books faster than the other person. It was all we could do. I mean, Newt wouldn't let us do anything to help because we'd get, and I quote, 'too stressed', so we were practically banished to reading on the couch, what else could we do besides race to finish a book?!

"I'm still going to beat you," I mumbled, not looking up from my book.

"Oh really? Where you up to now?" Thomas teased.

I flicked through the pages.

"Two chapters from the end of the book," I said proudly.

"Wha-How? Two seconds ago you were halfway!" He snapped.

"Well, while you were looking at me and showing off I continued reading and proceeded to finish...the...book," I replied shutting my book and looking up at him. "Done!"

He looked at me shocked and shut his book as well.

"I'm going to cool off," he said.

"I'm going for a swim," I said standing up and teleporting to my room.

I changed into my swim stuff, grabbed a towel, put on a skirt and walked out the room.

"Where do you think your going?" Newt said behind me.

"For a swim, what does it look like," I mumbled turning towards him.

He had his arms crossed and he looked me up and down.

"Private area I hope," he mumbled.

"Private area," I confirmed.

He nodded and walked off leaving me to my business.

"Be back soon!" He called. "If your not I'm going to find where you are and send a search party!"

"Ok blondie!" I called to his retreating figure.

I smiled and teleported to a cave. The cave was like my second home. Sometimes I slept there, I swam there and cooked there, I even learned to dance, sing and make different things using the surrounding materials.

"Home sweet home," I mumbled creating a bench and placing my towel and skirt on it.

I took out my hair elastic to let my hair flow down to its normal length and slid into the crystal blue water. I floated around the surface looking up at the sapphires that decorated the roof of the cave and gave it its beauty, until I heard a bang and clatter throughout the cave. No one came here, it was my spot to relax. No one, not even Newt, knew about this, hence the reason he said if I didn't come back he'd find me.

I wonder who's here. I thought.

I pulled myself out of the crystal blue water and wrapped my body in the towel and quietly but quickly tip-toed through the cave to where the noise came from. My soaking wet hair clung to my face as I walked in and gasped at the sight. There she was, Lilly, just standing there covered in blood, surrounded by people she had just killed.

"It was for survival," she said. "I swear!"

She stepped towards me and I took a step back. Lilly. The person who cared so much about other people, her friends and family, had just killed 15 people in the time it had taken me to walk 30 steps.

"Y-you just killed 15 people!" I said in disbelief. "You just KILLED 15 PEOPLE!"

"I know I know," she muttered. "No need to yell."

"You have been gone for so long and this is what you've been doing?! Killing people!" I screamed.

She hung her head and looked at the floor. That's when I realised.

"All those murders on the news. All the kills that were reported. That was you?" My eyes widened as she nodded, telling me that my thought was true.

"I didn't want to hurt anyone, I swear. I just felt so alone and everyone seemed to be scared of me." She told me looking up.

As I stared into her eyes she stared back with a new forced smile. Half my brain told me to run, get away from the freak I once called friend and tell Newt and everyone else about my discovery. But the other half wanted to join her, become the person I was meant to be and I followed it. I was sick of being stuck at the compound doing nothing while everyone else had a job, I was sick of the fact no one thought I was good enough to do anything! But Lilly was free to do what she wanted to whoever she wanted and with good style too.

"Blood suits you," I said smirking, finally allowing myself to follow her lead.

"I'm sure it would suit you too," she replied copying my smirk.

"How many people have you killed?" I asked.

"At least 300," she replied. "You?"

"You mean without Newt or anyone else knowing?" I mocked.

She nodded, her smirk growing wider.

"1008," I smiled crazily.

"You can do better," she said.

"I know," I replied. "That's why I'm going to join you."

She smiled.

"Good, we have work to do," she mentioned turning on her heel and walking to one side of the room. "You can't wear that to kill."
