Formal proposal

Lilly POV
It had been quite a few days since Rora's birthday and the winter formal was only around the corner. I still didn't have a date and I started to doubt Thomas was ever going to ask me. Multiple guys had asked me out and to the formal but of course I turned them all down, I mean I'm still extremely hopeful that I'll get asked to it by Thomas.

"Still no invitation for you yet?" Aurora asked me as I walked into her room and flopped onto the bed.

"Yup." I mumbled, my voice muffled by the covers.

She pat me on the back before going back to the book she was reading when I had walked in. Suddenly the door slammed open and Newt ran in. Aurora shut her book in shock and I jumped off the bed.

"Mission...Tony...need you...downstairs...now!!" Newt huffed.

Aurora dropped her book to the floor and ran over to him making sure he was ok seeing as he seemed to run up, he had a limp and he was her boyfriend.

"I'm...good...mission...Tony...now!" Newt panted shoving her towards the door.

She nodded and kissed him on the head. Then she grabbed me and teleported us both downstairs to where Tony was standing.

"Last minute mission!" Tony started. "Sorry girls but Loki showed up. Look on the bright side, maybe this will cure the disease of laziness you two seem to have gotten since you found out about the formal."

Tony didn't look happy. Aurora and I hadn't trained the past few days because we were crushed at the fact my boyfriend hadn't asked me out to the formal yet meaning we wouldn't be able to go the four of us. Even though it was late we didn't complain, trudged upstairs and slipped on our suits before making our way out to the quinjet. As we flew off Aurora seemed to realise that we hadn't seen Thomas this morning and that he and I were normally very clingy with each other, he had to come on our missions or, apparently, I would refuse to leave which was true I have to admit. She also seemed like she knew something I didn't, which was pissing me off.

Aurora POV
Tommy was asking Lilly to the formal! I read Newt's mind and he told me. I was so excited for her. She deserved something special seeing as Thomas had taken so long to say anything. As the quinjet flew higher I started to worry and I felt Lilly worry as well.

"Uh, Nat this is to high up!" Lilly yelled at her.

"It's fine! Trust me! All you have to do is jump," she stated as the door lowered in mid air.

Lilly grabbed my arm. "Can you fly us down? I can't be bothered with a parachute."

"Sure, but I can't make any promises," I said sheepishly earning a look from both Lilly and Nat. "What?! I've never tried to fly let alone with someone else!"

Lilly rolled her eyes playfully and did a salute to Nat before jumping out the quinjet, dragging me behind her. My mind went blank as I tried to comprehend that we were both plummeting towards solid ground.

"AURORA! YOU'RE GOING TO KILL US BOTH!" Lilly screamed from beside me.

I looked to my left at her. Her hair was flying everywhere and she was looking at me with a worried and scared expression. I sighed and liked back at the earth.

"Devil." I whispered.

I heard Lilly gasp and felt the wings, horns and halo form. I decided instead of falling helplessly to our death I'd at least try to fly. My eyes burned their piercing blue as I steadied the wings and flapped them a bit like you would if you were flying. Soon enough I realised I was hovering in mid-air but Lilly was still plummeting towards earth. I tilted my body and dived towards her. By the time I reached her, and had grabbed onto her waist to steady us both, we were close enough to the ground to see that something was set out on the ground. I started to circle the area in hopes of seeing what Loki could be doing; ok I knew Thomas was asking Lilly but I didn't realise it would be now! There on the grass we're big words laid out in rose petals that read:

FORMAL?

Lilly gasped and I tried looking for Tommy. As soon as I caught a glimpse of him he sent me a message in his mind to place Lilly down neat the candles. So I dove again, then I glided down towards the ground and moved the wings in a motion to stop us crashing into the beautiful set up as well as using a bit of magic to help fully lower us both to the ground.

"Hey! I didn't kill us!" I said letting go of Lilly and throwing my hands in the air.

I heard a whistle come from my right and when I turned I saw Newt standing there waving me over. I smiled and wished Lilly good luck.

"You better say yes! I almost killed us for this," I snarled before adding innocently. "Good luck."

Then I ran over to Newt who immediately hugged me.

"I honestly thought you were going to die. When Tommy told me what Nat was getting you to do and what Tony had told Lilly I was outraged and didn't think you would actually, you know, fly." He mumbled into my neck.

"Well, we're both alive and I found out that I can fly. So our next date will be a flying one." I said pulling away and giving him a peck on the lips. "Now, we have a proposal to watch." And with that we turned back to the couple.

Lilly POV
Thomas was asking me to the formal!! I was over excited and also extremely thankful that I wasn't dead. As Tommy walked up to me I felt like jumping into his arms and saying yes, but I came to the conclusion of letting him actually ask me first. He stopped in front of me and took out a ring box, then he got down on one knee and I saw Aurora and Newt eye each other in confusion.

"Lilly, you are the most beautiful and most amazing girl the world." Thomas started. "Ever since we met I have been thinking of this. So, will you marry-"

"TOMMY! IT'S A PROPOSAL TO THE WINTER FORMAL! NOT TO MARRY HER!" Newt yelled.

"NEWTIE! DON'T RUIN THEIR MOMENT!" Aurora yelled. "BUT THOMAS HE IS RIGHT!"

"Uh yeah right." Thomas corrected himself before clearing his throat and I couldn't help but giggle at him. "Would you go to the formal with me?"

"Of course Tommy," I smiled jumping into his arms for a hug.

"Well that was basically a complete success," I heard Newt tell Aurora.

"Yes, now we have dates for the formal and we need to go dress shopping!" Aurora exclaimed jumping up and down in excitement.

"That's right," I called. "Off to the dress shop!"
