early morning sunlight struck the window, bright and pure.

the room stirred with life as you and Albedo gathered your things together and were preparing to leave. The night was peaceful the morning was serene, Albedo— being the gentleman he is, ending up sleeping on the floor even after you insisted the he could have the bed.

He was uncomfortable sure, but it wasn't too difficult to fall asleep to the soft and nearly silent sounds of the late night in Liyue. meanwhile, you found it difficult to fall asleep even in a comfortable bed, after all being accompanied by odd dreams or nightmares made slumber a wishful thing.

Without Albedo's knowledge you went to visit you're old friend, sitting in comfortable silence; reveling in each others presence quietly.

"Let me go say goodbye really quick!" Albedo glanced at you and nodded, he was busy speaking with Verr. You hurried up the staircase again, heading to the highest platform of the inn "Hey Xiao! We're leaving!" you called.

"Then why are you here?" his gruff raspy voice made you jump when he appeared out of thin air, His golden optics did not waver from you're being when you nervously laughed after jumping slightly.

"Well to say goodbye of course!" he moved slightly to the side as you tried to hug him, "Why?" a defeated sigh escaped you. "Why not? You're my friend right? I'm supposed to say goodbye" he flinched at the words that left you're mouth with such ease.

"...I've missed hearing you say that.."

he stood unmoving like a still stone statue, so taking this opportunity, you slowly gave him a warm comfortable hug. It was quite similar to the one Albedo comforted you with when you were distraught. He liked it, he missed it but old bridges were burned and you had forgotten all of what he wished you could remember.

But he could still find peace in you're smile and voice, perhaps even a soft hug will settle his nerves now and then..

"ahem, Y/n we should be going"

You tried to break the hug but Xiao's grasp only seemed to get tighter; meanwhile the two men shared cold glares behind you're back. "Xiao— air please.." he loosened his tight hold and broke the hug, softly inhaling.

"I'll see you on out way back to Mondstadt,

so don't miss me too much alright?"

=============

Back on the road, the beautiful scenery captured your attention to the point you were wandering all over the path, it reminded you of when you came walking through here with Scaramouche.

"I could hear you toss and turn all night, Where do you find all this energy?" you shrugged and rushed to the other side of the path and picked one of the small flowers. "Well i guess my body naturally creates it?"

You scratched your head and put the small flower in your hair, "But i guess i'm just very energetic, no?" he nodded. "Ah, very. sometimes its rather tiring to deal with.."

with a small eye roll, you rushed ahead and ran towards the statue of the seven, portraying the image of the lord of geo. The stone hood covered the eyes, if there even were any, as well as completely shirtless though you thought nothing of it as the faint memories showed it was just his casual attire.

"anything?" Albedo asked softly, incase he broke any kind of immersion you could have been falling into. "No, Or at least not thing's i've already seen. just familiar images now"

the image of the brown haired god with soft yet intimidating amber eyes was all you could see along with the faint ringing of a low voice that made you're chest rattle. "Hm.." he hummed softly, "Let's go— hey are you..crying?"

It was difficult to believe, was the great god of geo really dead after living for over 6,000 years? I guess it's difficult to believe after helping him create the city of commerce and trade and not to mention helping him rescue or find those that later became the guardian yakshas that later grew to be a folk tale with a dark past.

"He can't be dead..who could have killed him? no mortal has such power to slaughter one of the strongest gods in the archon war.." Albedo placed a careful and gentle hand on you're shoulder.

"perhaps it was an act of treason? killed by his fellow adepti? you shouldn't worry, the past can't be changed.." you placed a hand over his and looked down, wiping yours eyes and cheeks before smiling at him.

"yeah, i guess.." sympathy painted his facials before his expression returned to normal, "We're almost there, perhaps we'll find something to cheer you up?" he drew his hand back to his side before facing the direction to the harbor.

"A new outfit would be nice, and maybe i can get Klee a souvenir.." you tapped your chin, half lidded eyes staring at what was in front of you. Traveling was boring when you ran out of things to look at or examine, "over the hill, we're almost there"

with a reassuring pat on the back, you're posture straightened but another sigh escaped you "You still feel down, i can do no more then tell you not to worry" he huffed. "I'll be fine, it just hurts a little bit.."

He had a mil understanding of the pain that stung you're heart, sorrow is quite a common feeling that he himself felt quite often or at least whenever something made him think of his teacher. He didn't like it, seeing you so down and void of all the energy you had moments prior.

You lifted you're head to look to the harbor, faint memories of your first time here filling empty space in you're head. "I feel like my brain is playing on loop, I'll have a dream or nightmare or i'll see something familiar then i'll have this weird feeling. It bore's me to go through the same cycle constantly.."

What an odd thing to say, as someone who was; at the very least entertained by every little thing to say something bored them. It didn't sound like you, not you're personality at least.

"You're not sick again are you?"

"No, just losing interest in this cycle"
