Maya has just made her way back to the firehouse after sending Capp home
"I swear you left with 4?" Herrmann says
"I had to send Capp home" Maya says sitting down next to Casey
"Why?" Casey asks
"He had a nasty cough and looked like he was gonna pass out, he's getting tested" Maya says as she sighs
"Hopefully it's nothing!" Casey says giving Maya a reassuring look
It's 2 hours later and Casey can hear shouting coming from mayas quarters
"I can't run on a three man squad!" Maya shouts whilst holding the phone up to her ear
"Screw you!" Maya says slamming the phone down on her desk
Maya sits down at her desk and the tears just fall down her face without any control
"Hey! You okay?" Casey asks in a calming voice
"Capp tested positive and headquarters can't give me a replacement because of covid" Maya says sadly
"It's not that bad" Casey says sitting down on her bed
"They said that there gonna give squad less calls! I can't do that to the guys! I've been on the job a few shifts!" Maya says clearly stressed
"Clearly you can't get this upset about squad getting less calls. Tell me what's really going on" Casey says looking at her
"My mum...she caught it and she's really bad! She's on life support Matt!" Maya says with even more tears falling down her face
"Come here!" Casey says as Maya sits down next to him and he pulls her into a hug
"I can't loose her Matt!" Maya says as she sobs into matts chest
"Shhh...I know...I know" Matt says in a calming voice whilst stroking her hair
Maya sobs on Matt for about 10 minutes until she pulls herself together
"I'm sorry Matt!" Maya says as she dries her eyes
"It's okay! I'll get out of your hair" Matt says before walking out
He walks into his quarters and closes the door. He then gets a flashback from what's just happened
*July 2007*
"I'm sorry Mrs Casey but you lost the baby" The doctor says
"What? Is this some kind of sick joke?" Maya says
"I'm afraid not" The doctor says before walking out
"No! Come back! The baby's still alive! It has to be! Please!" Maya says as she sobs
"It's okay" Matt says trying to pull Maya in for a hug
"No get off of me! I've failed you!" Maya says pushing Matt away
"You haven't done that!" Matt says still fighting her until he wins and pulls her close
"I'm sorry! I really am! I can't do anything right! I can't even give you a baby!" Maya says as she sobs into matts chest
"It's not your fault!" Matt says as he lets some tears fall from his eyes
*Present day*
"Umm Luitenent?" Mouch says as he appears at the door
"Yeah?" Matt says snapping out of it
"Boden needs us!" Mouch says
"I'll be right there!" Matt says with a smile
