You guys are freaking amazing and I love you 🥺
---"Can you guys bail Chan out?"
Jeongins mom took a second before she processed what he was asking.
"How much is his bail set at?" She asked skeptically. Knowing that it couldn't be too high but wasn't sure since he could be charged with a misdemeanor for what he did.
"Five hundred..." Jeongin looked away as he bit his lip nervously, hoping to God that she would say yes. He didn't want to go back to Chan with bad news and make it seem like he gave up on him.
"Five hundred?" She questioned in slight disbelief. It could have definitely been higher that's for sure but it was not a small amount either.
"Please? You can take me out of piano lessons or make me do communion until I'm eighteen. I'll do whatever you want me too, mom. Just please" He begged her relentlessly, hoping and praying that she would just say yes without a second thought.
"Are you sure you love him, jeongin?" She asked just because she wanted to make sure that he wasn't trying to fight for a lost cause.
"Of course I do," He said without any hesitation whatsoever and slight desperation coating his vocal chord "what are you talking about?"
His mom was quiet for a moment. Jeongin lost a little bit of hope for every second his mom didn't answer. Each second that ticked by was timed in hard heartbeats that made his veins visibly pulsate.
"Please.." He begged again about to get on his hands and knees.
"Let me talk to your father and see what he says. I'm not guaranteeing anything." She stood and began making her way to the door. "And just so you know, I don't appreciate what you said to me earlier. I only tried to do what was best for you but you didn't listen and look where we are now. We're trying to bail a boy that you started liking only about a month ago out of jail because you didn't listen."
Without another word, she was gone. The sound of her moving down the stairs could be heard faintly followed by faint voices of them.
Was she right? Maybe in some way.. But jeongin did not regret it even for a second.
As if on cue, his phone began ringing.
It was Jisung.
"Hello?"
"Jeongin, I was just calling to check on you.. How are you doing?" His friend sounded concerned for him.
"I'm okay.. Actually, I'm better than okay."
"Whys that?" Jisung sounded surprised at the answer, thinking he'd have to give jeongin a long talk about how much everyone loved him.
"My parents are thinking about bailing channie out,"
Saying it out loud felt like a victory in itself. The words said out loud made it real. It made it final.
"Oh my god," Shuffling from jisungs side came from the speaker "Minho! Innies parents might bail chan-hyung out."
"You're fucking joking right?" Minho sounded like he could cry even from how far away he was.
"Wait, ji. Put me on speaker so I can tell you both!"
There was a few seconds pause and then an
"Okay, tell us" From jisung.
"So I may or may not have called my mom a bitch and totally ran away-"
"You did?!" Jisung sounded after if he was holding back laughter "you finally stood up to her?"
"Yeah," Jeongin sighed as he watched the shadows on his wall move with the light from outside. "She kept telling me how I was wasting her money and I got sick of it so I told her that she barely does anything while my dad does all the work..."
He paused and a small hum from both boys came through the phone.
"My dad made me apologize and so I said that I was sorry she was such a materialistic bitch.. And then I got scared and ran upstairs.."
"Not gonna lie," Minho said after a moment "I haven't known you for that long but it's still weird as fuck to hear you swear... Chan really has changed you.."
"I don't even swear that much hyung." The youngest answered with a smile evident in his voice "but it's kind of fun to see your guy's reaction to it.."
"Anyways jeongin, how did your parents agree to it after you said all that?" Jisung piped in.
"Well my mom came upstairs and told me she was sorry and we had a big long talk that I'm sure won't even matter the second I try to go out in street clothes but after we forgave each other, I asked her. She asked me if I really loved channie and I said yes, because I do, and she said she'd talk to my dad about it." Jeongin didn't sound too hopeful at the end of his sentence. He didn't really think that his parents would do it.
"Even if they don't bail him out, jeongin. It won't be horrible because you can still write him and call him and see him." Jisung said, sensing the hesitation in his voice.
"I know," The boy replied softly "but it won't be the same as being held by him.. I just wish we didn't have the fight then none of this would've ever happened.."
They were all quiet for a moment before Minho voice came through the phone trying to lighten up the mood.
"Maybe I can convince changbin-hyung to lend you some money to rent out one of those rooms where you guys can spend a few hours together, if you know what I mean..."
A smack echoed on the other side of the line.
"He doesn't miss the sex, Minho he misses chan!"
"Maybe..." Jeongin said softly.
If he was being quite honest, he missed it all. The way that he felt when they had finished the night everything happened was like he was in love. It felt like he knew good and well what he wanted. Of course, it wasn't all about sex to jeongin but that was a part of a relationship whether one wants to admit it or not. That was part of every relationship whether they crossed that bridge early or several years later.
"Jeongin, if you agree to that I'll make sure that chan rails you so good that you can't walk for weeks!" I'll even kiss you!" Minho yelled as his voice got fainter since jisung just decided to walk away from his obnoxiousness.
"Don't mind him, jeongin. He's just annoying today. " Jisung let out a small laugh "anyways, let me know what your parents say as soon as you hear."
"I will sung.. Let me know if channie calls one of you okay?"
"I will. Make sure to rest, you must be tired taking care of all of this."
"I will don't worry.."
"I'll text you later"
"Okay, bye hyung."
"Bye innie"
The line went dead and all jeongin could imagine was chan railing him...

That was not how this chapter was supposed to end but I guess it's done now 🤠😳
