Jeongin was giggling hysterically as Chan went on a whole rant about how child should live a life without trying whipped cream.

"Like did you even have a childhood?! Whipped cream was like the highlight of my childhood and you're telling me you lived without that?"

Jeongin couldn't help but laugh at the way Chan was acting. It was obviously a joke since Chan knew the way jeongins parents acted.

Chan was plugging in the waffle iron and jeongin was climbing on the counter to get the waffle mix. Chans cupboards were very tall even Chan couldn't reach the top shelf without climbing on the counter. To jeongins luck the mix was on the very top shelf.

Jeongin stood all the way up on the counter grabbing the mix.

"You're telling me you've never had whipped cream? Like ever?"

"Chan for the millionth time no!" Jeongin jumped off the counter and walked up to Chan with the big bag.

Chan turned to jeongin and smiled softly.

"Can I mix it chan?" Jeongin asked excitedly jumping up and down a bit.

The older found it amusing how excited jeongin was about mixing waffle mix.

"Of course you can but let's measure the stuff out first. I'll let you do it by yourself too if you want"

"Yeah! My mom never let me do this by myself when I was little!"

Chan turned to go get a bowl from the cupboard and began helping jeongin measure out the ingredients for waffles. He measured out a little extra since jeongin kept going on about how he wanted to make a ton of them and who was he to deny what jeongin wanted?

"Okay now we have to measure out the water. Do you want to get a measuring cup?" Chan asked sweetly while pointing to a cupboard.

Jeongin quickly ran over to the cupboard and grabbed a liquid measuring cup and brought it back over. He measured out the amount of water the blonde told him to and poured it in the bowl.

While jeongin was focused on that, Chan couldn't help but stare at him. He watched the way his eyes focused on the cup so he could get the perfect amount. He watched the way his eyebrows furrowed like he was solving a difficult math problem.

"I'm done channie! What next?" Jeongin turned to look at the elder only to find him staring back.

Jeongin stopped to look at Chan.

It was like that for a few moments... The tension lingering in the air as they looked at each other. It had been happening a lot that day. They would have moments where they'd be caught in each other's gaze. Jeongin didn't understand the tension but Chan did. It was those moments where he wanted to kiss jeongin. Keep him safe and hold him until they died. Those moments were the ones where Chan genuinely believed that jeongin was a vessel from nirvana that God poured himself inside.

Chan moved over to the waffle iron and looked to see if the green button was lit.

"N-now we cook them" He muttered.

Jeongin stood at the counter still confused from before. confused on why Chan stuttered and why a slight blush was on chans cheeks.

"Chan what does that mean?"

"What do you mean? We put them in the-"

"No. When you stare at me like that?" Jeongins voice seemed small in the quiet kitchen.

Chan turned to look at the boy as his eyes flitted to his. Slowly Chan came up to jeongin and stood in front of him. Jeongin looked up at him with his lips slightly parted.

"What does it mean?" He asked again his voice being louder now that Chan was in front of him.

Chan was quiet for a moment as he looked at the younger.

For some reason when he did it made his heart ache in his chest. It made his breath get caught in his throat at the words that were going to fall from his lips any moment now. The ones that could change everything.

When a few moments passed jeongin felt stupid for asking so he began to turn away. Chan reached out and grabbed jeongins hand to stop him.

"If I say this and it doesn't change anything it will hurt more than keeping it to myself.. "

The younger looked back at Chan and down at their intertwined hands.

Jeongins heart raced in anticipation for what was about to come. He really didn't know what Chan was going to say.

"What channie?"

The blonde kept his eyes on jeongin and his grip tightened on his hand.

"It's because I think I like you... "

Jeongin broke into a smile and swung chans hand back and forth

"Aw I like you too channie!"

Chans eyes went wide

"You do?"

"Yeah you're totally a great friend!" Jeongin flashed another smile at Chan and turned to the waffles again.

"No jeongin.. You don't get it" Chan said softly as the boy turned around again. Confusion was written across his face.

"What do you mean?"

"I look at you like that because I think I like you" His voice was desperate for jeongin to understand.

"Yeah I got that much"

"As in more than a friend!" Chan was flustered as he said it. Being so open about his emotions wasn't something he was used to. It wasn't something he normally talked about.

The youngers eyes went wide and a blush spread across his cheeks as well.

"Y-you.. What..?"

Chan began laughing a bit at how embarrassed the younger got.

"Don't make me say it again"

Jeongin covered his face and muttered a small "shut up" Before shaking his head in his hands.

Channie hyung likes me... He really likes me!...

But what does this mean for me?
