"Are you warm enough?" Chan asked jeongin pulling him closer just in case.
They lay under the stars on the cliff side. The sky was a light blue since the sun had just set and was getting darker by the second. They had just sat there while the sun was setting telling each other stories of their childhood and funny stories they thought of along the way.
"Yeah, I'm really warm. Are you?" The youngers voice was a tad bit muffled from his position on chans chest. He lay with his head resting to where he could hear the olders heart beat. His right hand was over his stomach and holding his hand on the other side. blankets were pulled over both of them shielding them from the coldness of that night. Their legs were tangled beneath the blankets, their socked feet providing the warmth they both needed.
"Mhm I'm warm enough" He replied after kissing jeongins head.
"I've never done this before. I think it's super fun!" The younger picked his head up and smiled at chan for a moment, leaning in to kiss his soft cheek.
"I'm glad you like the idea, baby" He replied pecking his lips instead of his cheek.
Jeongin chased his lips for a few more soft kisses before laying back on chans chest.
"Do you know any constellations?" Jeongin asked looking up at the sky.
"No, do you?"
"Yep! I took astronomy last year in an online class. It was kind of a hard class to be honest"
"But you passed right? Can't have the smartest boy ever failing school!" He poked jeongins side making him giggle softly.
"Yeah, I passed with a B. My parents weren't happy but oh well" He shrugged.
"Show me some?"
The younger hummed for a moment while looking around at the stars in the sky.
"Oh! There Orion's belt!" He pointed excitedly at three almost perfectly aligned stars in the sky.
"And there's the big dipper!" He pointed to more aligned stars in the sky.
He watched the boy point out various stars and describe some things about them. Yes, Chan wasn't listening only paying attention to the way he would get excited and and look around for more once he spotted another one.
"This reminds me of my parents.. " Chan said before he even realized what came out of his mouth.
"Really?" Jeongin asked, putting his arm back beneath the blanket to hide from the cold. Chan hummed.
"We used to go camping a lot in the summer but we wouldn't ever use tents. We'd sleep under the stars like this and hold each other for warmth. Those were the most fun times of the year for me because it made me really appreciate my family"
Jeongin listened to this while thinking back to the picture in chans room. He had always wondered why they never came home to check on the older or why they never called.
"Where is your family?" Jeongin asked before he could stop himself.
He felt chans hold tighten on his body for a few moments but ultimately release and felt his hand slide beneath his shirt. His hand rested on his warm stomach rubbing it softly.
When Chan gave no answer jeongin began to feel terrible.
"I'm sorry- I shouldn't have asked such a rude question.. "
"They died." He answered ignoring jeongins apology.
The mood immediately was darker and more sad. Chan feared that if he told jeongin about his parents it would end in a fight just like it did hyunjin. That's why he never spoke about it and why only minho knew.
