Multiversal Romance Series: Sleepover

This is in Universe 304, the Universe of the oneshot Hospital/Deal with The Devil, and this takes place before the oneshot, which means the Chaeyoung of that Universe hasn't gone evil yet.

"Okay, today's class is over, please pack up your things and you are welcome to leave this class." said a teacher who was compiling the books he used to teach the class earlier. Hearing his words, all the 12th graders cheered with joy and quickly put their books inside their own lockers outside the classroom. "Kids these days, prioritizing too much fun more than education."  the teacher chuckled, shaking his head a little before leaving the classroom.

Chaeyoung was busy drawing, too drowned in her activity until she realized that class was over, and se was the only one sitting alone at class. The girl shrugged her shoulders lightly instead and continued her activity, pouring her talent and passion on her notebook paper.

When she finished drawing, the girl wiped the sweat off her face and smiled proudly at her artwork. A portrait of a girl with short hair and moles that always catched her attention. Next to the portrait of the girl was written the name 'Myoui Mina', written entirely by Chaeyoung herself.

Yes, she had always liked that Myoui girl for 4 years, ever since she first entered this school, her heart was beating and beating fast just by looking at the girl's face. They talked quite a lot, although the girl hung out more often with her Japanese friends. You could say she liked her in silence, because Mina had never seemed to notice Chaeyoung's nervous and shy behavior every time they passed or interacted, even if it's just for a mere moment.

When she saw the janitor who came to her class, Chaeyoung immediately tidied up her desk and kept her stationery and books in her bag.

"Excuse me, ahjussi. I'll be going first."  Chaeyoung bowed to the man who smiled at her. She then moved away from her seat and headed for the quiet school field to continue her activity.

She chose her favorite bench, the one she always sat on whenever she was spending her own free time. She was just about to resume her activity when she heard a girl's voice that sounded like she was on the phone calling someone.

Mina, that name immediately came to Chaeyoung's mind when she heard her soft and melodious voice. The girl closed the book again and looked back to quietly eavesdrop Mina's conversation with the person on her phone.

"Well, how long are you goin' to be there, appa? Oh....so what about me? Hm.....okay then." Mina then turned off her phone with a slight snort, keeping the phone in her pocket. "O-oh, Chaeyoung?" the girl widened her eyes in surprise when her eyes landed on the sight of Chaeyoung who was sitting on the bench looking at her. Chaeyoung immediately looked back at her book, her cheeks flushing red when she realized Mina saw her.

Mina immediately walked to where Chaeyoung was and sat on the same bench as the girl, their distance quite close.

"So turns out you always spend your time here whenever school's dismissed?" asked the Japanese girl, a little chuckle escaping her lips.

"Y-teah, it's cool and calm here, so the atmosphere is better." Chaeyoung replied, leaning her back against the bench. "S-sorry I accidentally overheard. But I-may I ask why?"

"My appa and eomma just called me, they left for America to take care of work, for one week. They didn't tell me beforehand that they wanted to go, though."  Mina pouted, stroking her own hair.

"So you are alone?" asked Chaeyoung.

"You guess, Kai oppa is staying at his friend's house for 4 days. I'm as alone as a snail at home." Mina answered with a light hum. Chaeyoung was getting nervous as she toyed with his own fingers. Maybe this could be her chance.  Maybe Mina needed someone to be with her side so she wouldn't feel all alone.
