Genre: Fantasy
This oneshot is apparently inspired by The Lion King
"Life....is not fair." a dark and deep voice spoke as the figure was toying around with a small white rabbit that happened to hop into his small terrifying hut. He walked behind it slowly as it hopped and hopped around.
"You expect for love to get, yet life gives you suffering and torment. Some people are born with royalty and great happiness, while others are not meant to get what they wish for, and they spend the rest of their miserable lives in the shadows, waiting for their prey." he chuckled while trying to chase the rabbit. It hid underneath a big skull and cowered inside it.
"We both have the same fate, dear rabbit." he smirked and kicked the skull harshly away. The rabbit tried to flee, yet had no time as he had stepped on its tail, causing it to screech in pain. He grabbed it by its tail and then held its ears tightly.
"We are just nobodies living underneath the rough dark shadows." he showed his scarred and half-burned face. "But you, you will make a fine meal."
Just then, he heard sounds of wings flapping which were coming to his place, and groaned as he recognized who those sounds belonged to.
"The king is on his way to your house. He has apparently requested your audience. As soon as his presence is to be felt, you will have to bow to him in respect." a small bird reported as he landed on his window. "It's not nice to play with a poor animal, Katar." he noticed him holding the rabbit. It soon escaped his grasp and hopped out of the hut.
Katar noticed it and clenched his fist.
"Look, Joona, you've made me lose my favorite lunch, and aren't you an animal too?" he plainly said without any emotion even present. He fixed his cloak and stretched his neck.
"You'll lose more than that when the king arrives." Joona the bird scoffed as he folded his wings.
"Well, that doesn't faze me." he turned to him and gave him a cold glare as he emotionlessly walked around him. Joona was startled by his creepy behaviour and alerted himself.
"Katar, Mister Katar, Katar, Katar, Katar, don't look at me like that." he gulped.
"I'm hungry, Joona, and you made me lose my lunch. How can you fix that?" Katar scoffed. "Oh right." he chuckled. "By sacrificing yourself." he growled and pounced onto the bird. Joona immediately flew midair and tried to escape the wizard as he used his magic to catch him. Katar used his dark magic and trapped him, pulling him closer to him. He was about to end the bird's life when he heard a stern voice.
"Chaeyoung" the king finally spoke when he arrived behind the wizard. He stopped his magic and turned to face him. "Let my messenger go." he said.
"Well if it isn't my dear big brother descending from his kingdom to mingle with his deformed brother." he sarcastically said as he dropped Joona and he immediately flew to his master. He walked around sinisterly and looked at him with a slight smirk. "What is it that you have all of a sudden come to my unwelcoming hut?" he asked as he poured some unknown drink into his small cup.
"Mina and I didn't feel your presence at the presentation of our son's birth this morning." king Soonghoon sternly said as he didn't keep his eyes off his dark brother.
"Was that today?" he plainly said, pretending not to know the whole thing about it. Katar finished the drink and scratched his itchy arm. He then flipped his hair and fixed it again. "Must have slipped my mind." he innocently smiled. Joona scoffed and flew near his face. "Of course I'm not intending to be offensive to your majesty." he chuckled. "Or perhaps Mina. As you know, I have tremendous respect for the two of you, especially the queen."
"As slippery as your mind seemingly is, as the king's brother, you should've noticed their son's birth was today. You should've been first in line." he scorned and mocked him while the wizard was rubbing his hair. He immediately turned to him and snarled.
"I was first in line, don't you all remember? That was all until your precious king here" he faced Soonghoon with hatred in his eyes "arrived." He lazily walked past them.
"Don't turn your back on me, Chaeyoung." Soonghoon ordered, an order that didn't reach his brother's ears.
"I didn't, dear brother, you did." he continued walking. Songhoon growled and hurried after him, stopping in front of him.
"Don't challenge me." he glared at him.
"I wouldn't dream of challenging you." Katar chuckled.
"A wise decision, mister. You have no chance against our majestic king here." Joona flew and stood on his master's shoulder.
"But at least he didn't forget that he was the one that stole the queen from me. The one that stole Mina from me, am I not faulted here?" Katar faced Soonghoon with fire in his eyes. He walked closer to him and glared at him with pure brotherly hatred. "I will never forget that, brother, and so won't you. I will always despise you for what you did to me, for stealing the love of my life away from me just by your royalness." he fired, his emotions almost getting the control of him. He would never forgive his brother for taking away the girl that used to be his most precious treasure. "One day, when your son is big enough to have a love of his own, I'll show him what it feels like." he scoffed and walked past his brother, leaving his hut.
"Long live the king." he mumbled before walking away. Soonghoon felt the guilt inside his heart for betraying his brother in the past. But what could he do, he couldn't change what he had done.
