“Y/N! It’s on!” Your long time boyfriend, Beau Bennett called from the couch.
Quickly you came out of the kitchen carrying a big bowl of popcorn before sitting on the couch next to him. Ever since you started dating Beau 3 years ago, you had been watching reality TV. Beau had this addiction to TV shows like The Bachelor and The Bachelorette that slowly crept onto you and eventually completely took you over. Suddenly the Bachelor became you and Beau’s thing. Even when Beau was out on road trips he would make sure he would watch the episode so he was always caught up with you. You two loved to be cuddled up on the couch watching everyday people fall in love. Somehow, the show had brought you two together. Even without you being CONTESTANTS!
“Previously on The Bachelorette…”
“That guy was a jerk.” Beau stated.
You nodded and reached for a handful of popcorn. The show began showing clips of the previous episodes and of the men who the CONTESTANT Diana had not chosen.
“I swear I would have never picked ANY of these guys.” You stated.
Beau looked at you sideways.
“Well… maybe Brad.” You corrected.
Beau threw a handful of popcorn at you. Most of which landed in your HAIR.
You gasped and grabbed some popcorn from the bowl and threw it back at him. Suddenly you both launched into a popcorn slash pillow fight on the floor. Beau was winning by a large margin when you pushed him over and laid on top of him.
“I love you, Beau. You know that.” You said while looking into his blue eyes.
“I know you do, (Y/N). I just worry you will find someone else-”
“That would never-”
Beau cut you off.
“So that is why I want to ask you something.”
You pulled your eyebrows together as Beau sat up, bringing you with him. You got off of his lap and saw him reach into his pocket. In his hand was a small black box. Beau got down on one knee in front of you. Your heart begun to pound and a smile crept onto your face.
“(Y/N), I have never met a woman who is so much like me. Who can sit and watch a reality show of people falling in love for hours. Who can have a damn popcorn and pillow fight with me and nearly win. Someone who doesn’t complain over me having to be gone so much and someone who is always supportive of me in my career. I have grown to love you more and more every day over the last three years, and I know I am no Bachelor who has some spectacular finale to ask you, but I love you more than anything in the world and I want to ask you. Will you marry me?”
You had tears flowing by the end of his proposal. You nodded your head rapidly.
“Yes! Yes!”
Beau stood up with a huge smile. He SLOWING put the ring on your finger and then kissed you. The kiss broke and he hugged you and spun you around.
“Hey! Brandon? Did you get that?” Beau yelled.
You pulled back and looked up at him confused. You heard feet shuffling and saw Brandon Sutter now in the living room with a camera.
“Got it.” He said.
You looked back at Beau and saw him smiling down at you.
“I had him record because I know that you like to watch the girls on this show look surprised and happy when they get picked. I wanted you to have that too.”
You were at a loss for words. You squeezed him tightly around the middle.
“God I love you, Beau.”
He hugged you back.
“I love you too, (Y/N).”
