Third POV

It was Christmas Day and the avengers were gathered in the living room. Some were talking, others were eating and some were playing card games. People were having fun, while Natasha stayed up in the room next to y/n.

She didn't feel like interacting with anyone but staying at y/n's side. Of course everyone else was worried for y/n but they were too focused on the secret Santa presents.

There was a soft knock. Barton carefully opened the door and peeked through checking if Natasha was still with y/n.

"Just checking up on you." He gave a weak smile.

Natasha was reading a book as she sat in a chair next to y/n's bed. She looked up and returned the smile.

"I see you're not dressed." He came in the room and closed the door behind him.

"There's no point." She closed the book and put it on the nightstand.

"What if she wakes up? I wouldn't want to see that as my first memory of waking up." He said sarcastically as he looked up and down.

Natasha looked down at herself and gave him a smirk. "You're right. I'll be back, stay here will ya." She quickly left the room.

"Yeah, I'll just stay here telling her all your deepest darkest secrets." He quietly said as he approached y/n.

The room was silent. The breathing of y/n as she peacefully slept was the only sound. Not too long after, Natasha walked in the room dressed in a tight red dress with light makeup and some jewelry.

As Barton heard the footsteps, he turned around and widened his eyes. "Now that's more like it." He smiled and looked to y/n.   "Y/n, may I present to you, Natasha Romanoff, isn't she pretty?" He chuckled as Natasha gave him a glare.

"I hope she soon wakes up." She said as she walked to y/n and grabbed her hand and sat back down.

"She will." Clint assured.

"How's Laura?" Natasha tried to make conversation as she softly held y/n's hand.

"She's good, but keep your voice down." He chuckled.

Natasha chuckled back. "I'm glad."

Natasha was about to say something else when she felt a tight grip from y/n. She quickly looked back to y/n and stood up, but carefully still holding her hand.

"What is it?" Clint asked seeing how suddenly Natasha stood up.

"She moved. She- she gripped my hand." She said with a smile as she looked back at him.

Clint smiled. "I'll go get Bruce." He quickly ran out the room into the living room. "Bruce!" Bruce was playing card games with Thor and quickly looked to Barton's direction. "Y/n moved!" He couldn't resist letting out a joyful chuckle. Everyone stopped what they were doing and slowly had smiles of hope. "Go wake the mighty y/n." Thor smiled.

Bruce, Tony, and Clint entered the room. Natasha had tears of joy and a smile hoping she would wake up any moment. As she heard the guys approach closer, she quickly wiped her tears and only had a small smile as she let go of y/n's hand.

"Did she actually move or were you imagining?" Tony asked.

"I'm not delusional Tony." She said as she stood back giving them space to examine.

"Well. There's no sign of new brain activity, Nat." Bruce glanced to Natasha.

"What?" She said with her arms crossed. "Check again. I felt her hold my hand back."

"It was most likely a twitch, nothing serious." Bruce put away his tools and exited the room.

Tony saw Bruce exit the room and looked at Natasha walk to a corner with her hands on her head.

Tony made sure he waited a couple of seconds after Bruce left and made his way to y/n. He grabbed the controls and started examining. Clint furrowed his eyes and walked closer to the scene. "What are you doing?" He whispered to Tony.

"Making sure she's alive. She should be up by now." He kept his eyes on the monitor. "It had to work." He whispered to himself.

After what seemed like a couple of minutes, he was finally done with his procedure and stood back. After minutes went by, he started pacing near her bed. Clint watched as both his friends were losing their minds. He slowly walked towards y/n. "Hey buddy, can I ask you a favor? Wake the f up before my friends lose their fucken minds. Please. Thank you." He whispered to her ear and stood back up waiting for a response.

Nothing.

Before Clint could exit the room there was a faint noise. "Ow."

Tony's footsteps stopped making noise and Clint froze. All three turned around to y/n's direction, hoping there was more movement. After a few seconds, y/n carefully and slowly opened her eyes. She tried to familiarize her surroundings but all she saw were bright lights above her.

Tony slowly approached her and y/n turned to look at him.

"T-Tony." She smiled weakly.

Tony gave a smile back and hugged her. "God, I'm glad it worked."

Y/n was confused on what that meant but thought nothing more of it. She was glad she was back.

Tony let go and went back to his desk.

"Hey, I don't think we've met." Y/n asked Barton.

He smiled. "No. I'm Clint Barton."

"Glad to meet you." She let out her hand as she tried to sit up.

Clint quickly walked up to her. "No, no. Please lay back, don't use up your energy." He helped her lay back down, but y/n caught a glimpse of red hair. She smiled to herself as Clint stood back. He looked to the side at Natasha as he nodded at her. Natasha started walked towards y/n. Clint exited the room.

"Merry Christmas." Tony told Natasha as he passed her and left the room.

"Hi." Y/n whispered looking up at Natasha.

Natasha just stood there appreciating that y/n had woken up. "Hey."

Y/n noticed her panic. "Could you pass me a glass of water please." She tried breaking the tension.

Natasha nodded and made her way to grab a glass of water as y/n kept her eyes on her. She came back to y/n and helped her slightly sit up as she drank the water. Natasha placed the glass on the nightstand and payed her attention back to helping y/n lay down to rest. As she was about to stand back, y/n grabbed her hand and Natasha turned to make eye-contact with y/n for the first time.

"Don't leave." Y/n carefully pulled her closer. She grabbed Natasha's side of her face until they were at the same level and she whispered in here ear "Please." She placed a soft kiss on her left cheek as she laid back down. She scoot a little giving Natasha space to lay next to her.

Natasha smiled and slid under y/n's sheets.

They both turned and looked at each other. "You look beautiful." Y/n smiled as Natasha blushed and turned back looking up.

Shortly after, y/n fell asleep and Natasha could finally sleep peacefully.
