A few hours later...

I made my mind up. I was going to visit Natasha and confess my feelings. I had gone through enough keeping them in and not only hurting myself but her as well.

It was getting dark and cloudy, hopefully not rain. I made my way to the hospital Natasha was at. When I got there, I walked inside a closet to turn invisible. I came back out and continued walking at a fast pace. This was so cool. Feeling everything and seeing everything around me, yet invisible to the eye.

I reached her hospital room and stood by the door. I couldn't get myself to open it. One, I was nervous and scared. Two, it was just weird for her to see a door open on its own. Luckily, as I got myself to place my hand on the doorknob, Nick came out of the room. "I'll get the paperwork done, so you can be out of here." I heard him say as I moved out the way and let him exit. Thankfully, he left the door open and it was a clear shot from here. So I closed the door and Natasha heard the sound. "Who's there?" she said sitting up.

I slowly made myself next to her and became visible again. "Natasha," I responded. She flinched and started breathing heavily. "Get away from me." She tried to stay calm, but I felt her panicking. "Hey, hey, I'm not gonna hurt you," I said calmly as I reached for her hand. She refused and pulled away. "Stay away," she said a little louder. "Okay." I looked down and took a step back. "I'm sorry."

She glanced at me as I started talking. "You know I never meant to hurt you. That wasn't me, I didn't have control and it was strong. But, you were able to bring me back, so I think I have a duty to tell you how I truly feel." I sighed and looked at her.

The door opened and a nurse walked in. "Oh- sorry for interrupting, I'm just here to check up on vitals." There was an awkward silence as we watched the nurse work. "Okay, you're good. You are cleared to leave, Miss Romanoff." The nurse smiled and left the room. Natasha spent no time and got out the bed. She made her way to the bathroom to change and came out not long after. "Can we talk?" I asked, but she ignored me as she continued getting her stuff sorted. "There's nothing to talk about y/n." She paused and looked at me.

Natasha started her way to the door and out to the hospital hallway. "Natasha wait up." I hurriedly followed behind her. "Natasha I really need to let out these feelings, I can't keep hiding them from myself and from you, please just, can you hear me out?" I called out to her. Suddenly, she stopped and turned around to face me. "Last time I checked, you felt nothing for me. You denied the feelings. You hurt me, y/n. And it might have not seemed like it, but you did, so please, leave me alone." She continued walking and exited the hospital door into the parking lot.

I wasn't giving up, so I continued following her outside the hospital. I paused for a second because of course, it was raining, but this wasn't stopping me either.

"I love you!" Once more, Natasha stopped but didn't turn around this time. "I have loved you since I first caught a glimpse of those green eyes. I have loved you since we shared our first kiss. I have loved you for the entirety of this new life I got. You make me want to get out of bed to have morning talks in the kitchen. Believe it or not, you're the reason I look forward to training. You were there for me when I found out about my powers and you helped me get through that. You're the reason I held on to life when I was captured. You were there next to me when I was in a coma, taking care of me" I paused to hear a response but when I heard nothing back from Natasha, I took a few steps closer.

"And I'm sorry for the damage I caused you when I declined having feelings for you, but I wanted to protect you from getting hurt. Now, I know you don't need my protection, but it made my stomach ache to visualize you going through what I went through back at Hydra. Truth is, I'm scared. I'm scared of losing you, but I'm also scared of having you. Because I would do anything to protect you, and I mean anything. The point is, I am in love with you Natasha Romanoff, and I love you too." I saw Natasha finally turn around with her eyes sparkling.

She made her way towards me but I didn't know what to do, so I kept rambling. "It's my response to the other day. I-I don't know if you meant it, or if it was just to snap me out of my killer mode, but-" I was cut off by her lips. "Stop talking," she said in her husky voice. I smiled and grabbed her by the back of her neck with one hand and the other on the side of her face, slowly bringing her in front of my face. She wrapped her arms around my waist and we looked into each other's eyes. "I love you more." Natasha chuckled and I pulled her into a passionate kiss.

Yes, we were kissing in the rain and it was cliche and all, but this was the moment I would never forget. All I wanted was to spend the rest of my days with this amazing woman.
